Sneakers when it's warm/dry enough, otherwise still in boots. Sigh.

I just got all my winter boots cleaned/stored, and then it snowed again. That's what I get for being overly optimistic!

We've had a few glorious warm days, but otherwise it's still too cold for me to do bare ankles, so the boots and hi-tops are what I reach for the most. I kind of wish I had a pair of lighter brown or taupe lace-up boots. I think they'd get a lot of use this time of year.

Suntiger, I read your thread with interest but what you see as transitional reads like my summer ;-D. I need socks to keep my feet warm all through May at least - sandals are the exception and I can only justify owning two-three pairs!
Janet, I agree that sneakers seem to go with everything these days. I've long resisted because I'm a bit dressier typically, but looking through spring lookbooks and streetstyle pics I'm drawn to it's sneakers all over.
LaPed (and others): I find the tiredness of booties after winter here quite funny. I adore ankle booties and would happily wear them year round :). I'm just currently having a hard time finding the right pair for the warmer seasons, lighter colored but not precious, nor too gear-like...
Thanks everyone for chiming in and/or showing your stuff!

So many wonderful shoes that are being posted !

I love a loafer and ankle booties in lighter colors ( not black , i love grey )

This year though, I am introducing some sneakers. Janet has some fantastic recommendations !

Liesbeth, lighter colour, unfussy ankle boots is what I’ve been thinking about too. Most of my boots were bought with winter coats in mind (mine are black and navy), and they start to feel too dark/heavy this time of year. I think what I need is a not-too-bright take on cognac, something like the versions below.

...or you could buy another pair of casual shoes instead of sneakers.

I’m wearing loafers and that’s it.
I’ve got a pair of white sneakers but am not wearing them as much.

I'm wearing sneakers and Chelsea boots. I rarely wear shoes. Not sure why but I prefer boots.

So far this week I’ve been wearing these

Commenting to follow out of interest (& to keep my finger on the pulse for my eventual move back to the UK) but I shall refrain from sharing my own shoe practices for now, lest I get these collective shoes thrown at me for sharing what I wear on my feet in our 20+ degrees celsius 'spring' weather haha

I’ll be the first guy to coment on this thread. I’ve recently taken the clog plunge and am extremely happy I did. I have two pairs of open backs, black danskos and another pair with brown leather uppers and wood soles. I already want more!! It’s driving my wife crazy!!

LaPed, you need cognac boots!
Bjv, I hate clogs :-D. I wore them when I was pregnant in spring but they made my feet sweaty and I couldn't bring myself to wear them with socks ...

Liesbeth, I def realize clogs aren't for everybody, and can't imagine wearing them if pregnant. At work I do wear my Danskos with socks and its not big deal and no one cares. At home though, def no socks and have no issues with sweaty feet as the leather seems to breath quite well. And yes, I do get some occasional comments on them from women, always positive though.

I’m mostly wearing slipons—loafers & boots, though I’m tempted by a pair of ankle boots on sale at Vagabond. They would replace my Clarks, which have somehow gotten too wide, and might nudge out the floral Seychelles too, which are already looking aged beyond their years.

Jack Rogers Tinsley boot in grey? Well under $ 100 on their site, and

Oops, I was cut off; I like Jacks as an alternative to Frye, similar vibe but not too expensive.
