What shoe to wear? - YouLookFab Forum

Hello all, it's been a while since my last visit. I've been lurking, not much posting.

I'm in a shoe dilemma. I need advice on what shoe to wear with black dressy track pants?

I live in Florida.

I am traveling to North Carolina for a long weekend. High 62 - 72 depending on the day. Lows in the mid-forties.

I bought a pair of black silky track pants that I can dress up or down. The problem is, I am wondering what shoes to wear with them if I wear them out to dinner one night, or if I wear them out in the day.

My shoe collection is lacking. I would normally wear my Sofft Bernia sandals with the black pants, but I'm afraid it would be too cold. Would you wear sandals with the above weather for evening?

I have a pair of black Asics walking sneakers and a pair of white Keds with a little bit of navy detailing, but not much. What do you think? Could I pair either of these shoes for sightseeing during the day with the pants, or should I just wear jeans? I don't have any other black shoes that would work and I'm trying to keep my packing light.

For toppers I am bringing t-shirts and cardigans (neutral colors, ivory, white, olive, black and one royal blue) and one dressier 3/4 length t-shirt with beading at neck if we go to a "nicer" restaurant. And jeans.

I think the black sandals would look splendid for evening, and either of the sneakers would be great for daytime sight-seeing. I would lean toward the white sneakers, as they look more street-like to me.

I would not wear sneakers. Keds are fine and the sandals are indeed splendid! Sandals would be my first choice with keds as a back up in case it's too cold.

My feet get cold outside at night, so if yours do too, take that into consideration. I imagine what I here in California think is cold some of you would laugh at. I often look at the hourly temperatures to get an idea of when the temperature will drop (or warm up), and plan accordingly. At this time of year it sometimes means keeping a change of shoes in my car (which doesn't help much when traveling). I dressed for the weather this morning, am a little warm in my house right now, but too lazy to change as I am dressed right for tonight.

Daria makes a good point to my way of thinking. I'd go with the Keds for day.

Such weather is too cold for me to wear sandals. But I can't say my feet would fare better in any other type of shoe. In any case, I'd probably wear d'Orsay flats.

I'd wear the bernias with sandal toe hose for warmth. But, to me, that's not cold weather, plus maybe you'll be indoors mostly.
