I've been taking some loose inspiration from Sterling and trying to spring/summer shop in bulk and then plan to cut things off within the next week. With that in mind, I've been forcing myself into stores to see what's there and trying to go a bit out of my comfort zone.

I happened to get a Talbots catalog and I loved all of the bright vibrant colors they showed. I have never had much luck with their fit (too short through torso), but they've got a sale going, I saw a couple knit dresses I liked, and I decided to give them a try. As I've been doing, I tried on a bunch of things and then walked away to consider if I'm interested in anything.

Pluses:
dresses approaching knee length (may be knee length for someone 5'6" or shorter).
More modest v necks and u necks.
Knit tee quality appeared good and not tissue thin. Could work for basics.
I love the colors. And I love that pool or tile blue seems to be making its way around again.
Many tees have a little embellishment to liven them up a bit.
Tried on a button down that actually fit without gaping at bust.

Minuses (for me):
Dresses still don't reach the knee.
Tees pretty universally seem an inch or two short of optimum. I would think petites could really find the right length here.
A bit classic/preppy for my personal style.

Have you got any stores that aren't in your rotation that you've taken a look at this season?
