What or when do you wear cascading jackets?

I am talking about the lightweight jersey ones. I'm wondering if I have a need for one. In the warmer weather when a cropped denim jacket doesn't work? What outfit would that be with?

I have to run but will post pics & a K/R later or maybe I should wait for Angie to return to the forum.

You mean cardigans? I love draped and cascading cardigans. I wear the light ones to protect bare arms from air conditioning. I think they work best with tanks, shells, and T-shirts myself.

Boy, I'm out of it today. First hero pants and now cascading jackets. I don't know what a cascading jacket is.

Yes JR I guess that's what I mean. It's just that I always thought of cardigans as a heavier knit than just the light jersey I'm referring to. Thanks for suggestions. Do you have pants on bottom?

Rachylou see pic. I'm not sure if it looks good with what I'm wearing. I bought it to go over the long asymmetrical hem tank as no other jackets or cardigans seem to work with it.

I wear those all the time over just about anything. With heels and dress pants, it can be a blazer alternative for the office (if your office isn't too corporate) and with jeans and boots, it's a casual look. I think the way you have it is fine, but the different angles of the hems in the blouse and the sweater seem to be competing. Maybe try it with a straight-hemmed top and see how you like it.

Yes i have been wearing these a couple of years and they are versatile, hide bits, look good with a bunch of stuff, you can techically put a belt on them to make the hem 'straight' (and I am pretty chunky round the middle and it worked) OR a belt over the t underneath... i am just starting to feel they pull the eye 'down' not up... I get bored easilyy though so... they are great pieces, did i tell you how many I have? ok there is the source of boredom... yes something plain under is really nice with them. AND necklace needs to be long to follow the vertical lines of the jacket...

I especially like to wear them with skinny jeans , over dresses or over a tunic and leggings.

I wear either pants or a skirt on the bottom. They would work well with a dress too, at least a straight one.

Have you tried a cropped jacket over your long tank? Which I love, by the way. It is really cool.

I like them best with a slim outfit underneath, like skinny jeans and fitted turtleneck or tucked tank and a pencil skirt. See the third photo of my outfit today:
