what kind of pumps do you wear for work?

i have a few low-heeled, pointy-toed pumps that i wear to work, but am unsure what colors/styles/brands will be most efficient & comfy for a tight budget. so far, i have:

--nude
--red patent
--black patent peep toe wedge

what do you get the most mileage/comfort out of, especially in spring/summer? i wear lots of dresses (neutral/jewel colors, prints), and occasionally trouser jeans. this is a relatively new awareness for me, so your seasoned advice would be much appreciated!

Those the same styles and colors I wear that get the most mileage in the spring and summer. If anything you might want to get a second pair of nudes in a different shade or style. Maybe a wedge?

I just rotated my shoe collection (putting the suedes away until the fall and brining all the peeptoes and sandals out) and I realized I have 4-5 pairs of nude/cognac type shoes in several variations:
-strappy platform cork heels
-tasteful pointed toe pumps
-woven leather toed wedges
-espadrille open-toed (cough, I might have a couple of those)
-the Franco Sarto Tazer wedges
-the Franco Sarto Atlas heels
(Yeah, I am probably keeping them both. LOL!)

Not all of those are appropriate for work but most are, on hot summer Fridays, etc.

Those sound like great basics. You might add a metallic in one of the new cork wedges.

This is what I use year-round:
- 2 black patent (my one absolute staple)
- black loafers
- nude snakeskin
- gray slingbacks
- metallic gold flats

I have some colors, too, but the shape is always a very basic pump... I feel I can get away with more interesting colors at work when the style is conservative.

For spring/summer months I wear the following to work:

Pewter KC Cedar City Wedge sandals
Clarks Laguna Reef sandals in sand
Black patent peeptoe heels with "wood" heel
Snakeskin peeptoe heels
Two pair of metaliic "dressy" sandals

I have no need for any others, but I'd LOVE
yellow pumps
white peeptoe pumps

You need a metallic pair of pumps, sling backs or sandals. I find them indispensable. So, so warm weather appropriate and versatile.

I agree! I don't wear heels, but in flats my bronze pair gets the most mileage. Bronze goes with everything and is more interesting than regular brown or black. I also wear a leopard print pair a lot, as well as a black and white patterned pair. A nice subtle pattern can create some interest, especially if you're wearing mostly solids.
