It's national donut day! In honour of the $3.50 hipster donut, a quiz for all you fellow hipsters and wannabe hipsters... wait! Isn't a hipster and wannabe hipster the same thing? Lol. Ok. A quiz for all *you peeps*...
I am a Jam Filled Donut. How did Martha know? The donuts pics look exactly like my $3.50s.
Well on the quiz I got crème donut, but now I wanna know what all the result options were! (Was it reaaaalllyy the best result for me!??) As far as what actually I reach for when I actually eat donuts, I like the Old Fashioned best ^^ Jam filled are close behind.
Crème donuts aren't bad, just not my first choice.
I'm trying to find out what makes an Old Fashioned old fashioned.
Last but not least: I've been examining my pic closely. It shows granulated sugar but they talk about powdered sugar in the blurb. I don't do no powder!
Another cake doughnut here :):) "You keep things classic and recognize a good thing when you see it. Creme filling, a glaze, powdered sugar -- they all seem a little over the top. The way you see it, you can't improve perfection."
Another cake donut here. And, oddly enough, quite true, although I won't pass up a jam-filled donut. I especially love my cake donuts rolled in a cinnamon and cardamom-spiced sugar topping. Yum!
I got cake doughnut too. No surprise as my absolute favourite doughnut is old-fashioned plain, with nutmeg. Not sour cream. If I have to, old fashioned glazed is acceptable but I by far
prefer the plain.
I think after that it would be a tie between fritters and crullers.
I am a cake donut but the picture has powdered sugar and I will not eat that. Too sweet. They did not have my favorite holiday listed, mother's day. That probably would have removed the powdered sugar.
My BF pooh poohed this test outright. He eats donuts most every morning along with his soda (which he pointed out was not a choice listed as accompanying beverage). They ranked him donut hole. Last choice he would make in the pastry aisle. He'd go hungry instead. What the h*$# does Martha know anyway??
Glazed...and confused. I guess it's ok, I like maple donuts but my favorite donut growing up in SoCal was the crumb donut: cake donut rolled in sweet crumbs. Rarely seen it elsewhere and never had a good one since I moved away--but not reason enough to go back.
Cake donut here for my " results" . I think they are okay but not my Favorite. My favorite are the cream filled frosted yeast ones, and I don't want any almond flavoring in the creme filling either! Buttermilk Old Fashioned are probably second especially if I can have some caramel frosting on top.
My fav as a kid in Tacoma ,Washington was Winchell's creme filled croissants and the maple bars.
I am a Creme donut too! It must know that is the kind I buy the most of ... but for my dad! He likes the Boston Creme ones and he always looks at them longingly at Tim Hortons.
I do not discriminate on the basis of what sort of doughnut it is; any variety of fried dough is my favourite. I love them all. The quiz gave me cake doughnut, although I probably like beignets more than anything else. Sopaipillas are also amazing.
