What I've been wearing on hiatus + date night w2w question

Hello my forum lovelies.
This hasn't been my year in terms of presence on the forum, has it. Apologies for yet another long hiatus - it's just been one of those times. But I haven't forgotten you all, nor have I been neglecting my weight loss efforts or style objectives. Pic no. 1 is an example of the sort of casual look I've been sporting on off-hours. I'm big into woven, waist-defining tops of late, and these clams remain a favourite. I'm also loving the idea of bright, bold accessories.

Another recent favourite figures into picture no. 2, on which I need your input. For a number of reasons, Corey and I are badly in need of a date night in which I put my best foot forward. I'm debating between the looks shown in outfits 2 and 3:
2. Faded denim skirt (new workhorse) + black lace tunic and pearl necklace
3. Orange dress (most comfortable item ever), gold necklace and white accessories

I think I know which one I want to wear, but you ladies get the final say. Thank you, as ever, for your help. I will devote myself to catching up on the forum when I return tonight.

Michelle, you are looking great. It is very nice to see you posting.

I really like your casual outfit in #1. It is very becoming (is that still a saying or am I quoting my grandmother).

I like the second outfit and think it fits well but it is a bit dark for a date night. I really like the orange on you but might put it with a smaller necklace. I think even a delicate short chain would be pretty.

How nice to see the "ever shrinking" Michelle - you're looking marvellous! Love you in that white wrap top. For our date outfit, the orange dress is fabulous. I would actually leave off a necklace altogether to accentuate your neck and upper chest and let the dress speak for itself. Have a lovely date night!

Much prefer the orange dress for date night. The skirt outfit is cute, but it's just not very 'sparky,' if you know what I mean. It all reads a bit dark and muted. It's very pulled together for a daytime coffee with girlfriends, but it's not special enough, I feel for a night time date.

Oh, Michelle, that first outfit has all my favorite colors! I especially love turquoise with white, black and red and you got them all together. I love it. I need to bust out my red bag!

I'll agree with the rest on the orange dress and hope you and Corey have a wonderful night out.

You look amazing! I love both date night outfits but for some reason I am leaning toward outfit #2. Can't go wrong either way though.

Michelle, it's good to see you here again! You are looking really wonderful and I can tell that you've continued to lose weight. I love the white top in #1 on you and it looks great with the bright colorful accessories.

For date night, I vote for the orange dress. I really love it paired with the gold jewelry - it's very flattering for your coloring and perfect for a lovely summer evening date. The other outfit is very nice too, but feels a bit more somber and less summery.

Michelle, I'm so glad that you're doing well. It's great to see what you're wearing lately! My favorite for date night is the orange dress-a VERY fun color on you and perfect for spring and summer.
Hope that you and Corey are able to do something fun and relaxing. B. and I have realized since moving in together how we need to get out for date nights even though we see each other every day!
We're overdue for a chat-I'd love to catch up when we both have time to Skype!

I like #2 a lot but the orange dress definitely has more of date night look to it. You are looking great either way!

Love your casual look. The denim skirt seems more coffee with the girls. The orange dress deinitely says date night. I think the white bag & shoes are great for a daytime date and if it's a night time date I would love to see this with your silver sandals (you wore them dancing) & I think you have a metallic hand bag with a chain strap? Delicate silver ear rings and nothing around your neck(as Shannon suggests).

You look great in the denim skirt outfit too and can wear it in the fall as well.

Thank you so much, ladies! I've just returned from a lovely date night, during which the orange dress and gold necklace both received several complements separately and as an ensemble. I'm trying to stear clear of knits in general, but I'm so glad I made an exception for this dress as I adore everything about it. It's probably my most complemented piece irl, and it's outrageously comfortable too. Sort of the summer equivalent of my cobalt dress.
Thank you for all your kind remarks re. the weight loss, too. Much appreciated. After that decadent dinner out, I've got to get me back on track!

I just got back myself from a hectic day of shopping (alone!) and graduation party but had to chime in on your vibrant and lovely orange dress. I also really like both the other outfits you presented on you. Seems like you are very busy Michelle but glad you popped up today !

Quick question about the denim skirt. Is it nnot reading as a more faded denim? Because that's what I'm told it is irl, which is why I bought it. Even if that is coming across, is it still a dark shade? I pictured it lighter and would love to be set straight.

I love all three outfits. The denim skirt does seem dark from here, but not super dark. On my monitor, at least, it does not seem faded.

Your gold necklace is so pretty with the orange dress. I think the turquoise necklace from number 1 would be really cute swapped into that outfit, too!

Michelle, on my computer the skirt is medium blue with the fading through the thighs, and darker blue at the hem, which reads as casual. It doesn't look (on my monitor, at least) like it's faded throughout.

Thanks for the skirt description, Jenava. As long as the fading through the thighs doesn't over-emphasize them, I'll keep loving the skirt.

Michelle, I definitely wouldn't worry about the fading emphasizing your thighs based on this picture. The fading looks like worn-in jeans where the fabric is dark, but from gentle wear and tear the fabric lightens in a very natural looking way in certain areas. In this case the fading isn't super high-contrast. It's still a casual skirt, though.
