Spinoff from GP's thread about what items you're "over!"

I saw that Rae posted that she is tired of her knit pencil skirts, and my immediate reaction was "I will NEVER be over my knit pencil skirts!" I have the Halogen seamed skirt in EIGHT colors and wear one of them at least twice a week. I am quite certain I will love them until I die or they fall apart!

What about you? To what closet items will you be loyal to the bitter end?

Actually, I *wish* I had some knit pencil skirts! Halogen doesn't fit my booty/hips. I only have woven skirts.

But I don't think I'll ever tire of my AS leather jacket or Frye Julias (I'd better not)!

Bootcut jeans and trouser jeans.

Turquoise necklaces. Actually I will add all my necklaces. Don't feel like me without one.

Cardigans - I'll be the rebel since so many posted that they are over their cardis. I love mine and although I appreciate a jacket, a cardi is a staple for me.

Halogen seamed pencil skirts. I hope they last a long, long time. They are as near perfect as perfect can be for me and my needs.

Basic, solid colored, loose fitting silk safari-style blouses worn with the above skirts, or with jeans.

To these two items, I can add all sorts of trends in footwear, handbags, jewelry, jackets/blazers, etc. for years.

Although I lived in Austin for a decade, that list makes me sound much more cowgirl/Western than I think of myself--interesting.

My spring green velvet mandarin collar jacket, which should be in my rotation right now!
My black and tan bag with bamboo handles and a bamboo woven pattern that looks exactly like something someone's mom would have picked up while traveling in Spain in the 1950s.
My mom's woven wicker purse that as a teen I told her was the ugliest thing I'd ever seen and in my 20s I begged her to give to me.
My pashminas that I wear as incredibly luxurious scarves and the best cold office cover up ever.
My black pearl earrings and my amazing Medusa cameo ring, both made for me by my dear friend who is a goldsmith.
My pea coat.
My pencil skirts, which I always have. Even when they are out of style, they are tucked away waiting for me.

Actually, I'm pretty enamoured with my Calvin Klein bra collection (once I got properly fitted at Nordies) and my Jockey undies.

I think I could lose interest in just about everything else over the next year or two, and still be okay. . .

Okay, maybe I can't give up my watches.

. . .and a new white trench coat - but that might turn out to just be a honeymoon phase!

I have thought about this for a while and think I will never tire of black and white. Some of my all-time favorite dresses and outfits over the last 3 decades have been black and white. I had a beautiful simple sheet in black with really big white polka dots and a white peter pan collar in my 20s that I am sure I could still wear today if I had it.

I also love my soft blouses that drape well and fuschia and teal - all the bright jewel tones.

I am not sure of anything anymore, LOL ! When I first came to YLF, I was not a jean fan at all ( what did I even wear back then ! ). Now, like Christieanne, I can't imagine life with a bootcut pair.

Same for black trousers and black ponte pants. Also a black shift dress.

I'm not sure! In fact, I haven't commented on GP's post yet because I have to think about it some more. I'm still in a state of fashion flux I think. And the things I do love at present, I'm afraid to mention for fear of jinxing them somehow, lol! Maybe I'm just fickle!

I'll never be over jackets, jeans, and boots.

The cuts and styles may change (and I hope they do, over time!) But these are the staples of my style.

By the way, I think the Halogen pencil could become another staple for me, even as a work-at-home woman. It is THAT great. Now I just have to get it in a handful of fun colours!
