What items are you trying not to buy?

Hello YLF

Right now I am trying to keep myself from buying light weight toppers.I don't work in an office so I don't have to worry about AC in summer, at its best our spring is not very warm and this year the prospects are not looking good, summers are too clammy for toppers outside.
Plus, I have a couple of them from previous years that I barely used.

The only trouble is, I love jackets.....

What are you trying not to buy this season?

Leather jackets of any kind. I have one but keep wanting more. Especially white or cream. It's a want, not a need.

I'm trying to find a topper I can wear and not be hot in but this doesn't exist. Trying to resist buying any more toppers bc we are heading into the hottest season of the year.

Blazers, too, I have plenty but find myself looking for more. I just love the way they complete an outfit.

In general trying to buy less and just wear what I have.

No jackets, no button front shirts, no tees unsuitable for work, no jeans, no more dresses or skirts. Basically I have plenty (or more than I need) of everything except hot weather work tops and one or two uber lightweight silk/cotton waterfall cardigans. I also need sandals, but I'm done on loafers.

The R&B pajama jeans. I want badly. Can't afford or even really justify the high price tag, but boy do I wish I could.

Celia, I can relate! I love jackets and toppers so much, but my use for them is limited because our summers are so hot and I don't spend much time in overly-air conditioned environments.

I am resisting fall and winter-appropriate skirts for now because the ones I have saw so little use this winter. I do wear them a bit more in warmer weather so maybe I'll add one to the summer wardrobe if it's really great.

Spring fashion is my shopping weakness (crisp, colourful and comfortable). I have to be careful NOT to over purchase flimsy items and stuff that is too cold to wear - so high five, Celia.

I am also trying to stay away from grey, and want to add black very sparingly.

Trying not to buy any more $5 cute summer tops. I have enough. Also, conversely, trying not to buy anything that can't be worn above 75 degrees. I have a long haul of hot weather ahead of me.

Carter, you just reminded me of something else I am trying not to indulge in:dresses. They are very easy to wear but don't give many different styling options in summer when you cannot add toppers.

Janet, I do that every single winter.I buy skirts that end up almost orphans.

Angie, I am trying to create a cohesive colour scheme for spring/summer. Still working on it.

Mo, I am also trying not to buy summer tops that need a cami underneath, they are unwearable in summer.

Ugh, don't get me started on summer tops that need camis. I'm so annoyed with that whole trend. I looked at some otherwise nice tees the other day at the mall that were so thin they would require a cami underneath. Who wears a cami under a cotton tee??

Tshirts. I had been searching for some to replace worn out old tees. But then I bought a bunch that I love. I can't seem to remove it from my mental shopping list now that I have more than enough. No more tshirts!!

In general, bottoms as opposed to tops. I am much easier to fit in bottoms...tops are quite a bit harder to come by. As a result, I always get sidetracked when shopping for tops and end up buying bottoms!

I'm also trying to avoid shoes. I've got enough, I think, and am going to wait until a real wardrobe hole appears before I add any more.

Jackets (the blazer-y type)! I have so many now, I don't need anymore, even though I wear them all eventually. Jeans - ditto as far as number. When I was losing weight last year I got into "always look for jeans/pants" mode and now it's a habit that's unneeded.

What I do need, now that it's spring, is non-jean pants and light woven tops.

Things that fill holes but aren't 10's on me. I think I have enough tops, toppers, bottoms, and shoes to work with now. I'm trying to take back ones I haven't worn that aren't 10's in retrospect even if they are the right color or shape or something. Even if they are inexpensive or thrifted, every bit helps and it's better just to wait for something that zings.

Jackets! Particularly for summer. For a number of months it is really too hot for jackets so I don't need as many summer jackets as I have... have to keep reminding myself I don't need more:)

Oh Celia - great thread!! I am trying not to buy those overall's that Denise posted. I would only wear them for lounging and since I run cold I don't think I'd like them with a topper. I also prefer a more polished, sleek look, so they would never leave the house. Much too spendy for that. I really need to focus on a summer work capsule. I alway pretend I don't need summer clothes and swelter. I may flip this thread on the forum because I am trying to stay on task.

Almost anything! I have more than I need already. What I want to buy, however, is shoes. I want dressy shoes, loafers and sneakers, and I think I want new sandals, too. Obviously this is too much at the same time.

Jackets .... I saw a cute burgundy moto in F21 and I tried very hard not to look again. Still playing in my head..... Ummm .. I live in a desert ... My summer is 8 month long with highs of 55 C. My winter is four months long with lows of 15C. Do I need it? No ... But it's soooo cute! Trying very hard not to go back!!!

Dresses - they're easier to buy for me than most separates, but I have so many, and they don't allow for as much creativity!
