As part of our Thanksgiving ritual, we always discuss what we are most thankful for in the past year. So that got me thinking about what item I purchased this year that I am most thankful to have finally found. For years I've searched for that one jacket that would span all seasons, span causal to formal, make every outfit cooler, and be a long lasting purchase. To me, this meant a cropped tux jacket. Needless to say it seemed impossible. I might have been looking for the one ring of power in LOTR. With a major event looming, this because a priority which was terrifying. But just when I thought all was lost, I finally found it. My MVP purchase award goes to the Helmut Lang smoking wool tuxedo blazer. It's 3/4 sleeves, cropped back, light weight, the perfect length and the fit is plumb. I am not sure how he does it, but because of the way the back collar is cut, it gives me that graceful swan-like neck I wish I had. It looks good open, closed and works with pretty much everything I've tried it with. Is there one purchase that you are particularly gratetful for this year?
