What is your strangest birthday present and a message for Debora

Firstly Debora, I would like to wish you a happy belated wedding anniversary, I was a little distracted by a case of the vanishing chickenpox to post on the day. I'm sorry.

Secondly, it is Ben's birthday tomorrow and Teah has picked her Daddy's present, so for his 34th birthday he is getting a 24 piece Wall-e jigsaw puzzle and a football birthday cake. I'm sure he will love it

This got me thinking what your strangest (but very much appreciated) birthday gift has been?

Mine? My youngest Sister, 9 years junior used to buy me a ruler and a sherbet dip every year for about five years. It was so sweet of her to save her pennies.

I once got a sanitary belt!....waaaay back when you had to fold the ends of the pads. Nothing has topped that for strangeness- and yes, it was appreciated-lol!

My weirdest Christmas gift was a "blooming onion" maker from my ex-MIL. Aaand, it was accompanied by a gift bag full of free beauty samples.

Did I mention she's an ex-MIL?

A rock tumbler. I remember plugging it in and it would tumble the rocks and make them smooth and shiny. Talk about noisy but it was super cool.

Lol, Bicuitmom! I was telling my girls how lucky they are that they didn't have to wear a wad like that. I was trying to explain the belt--finally settled on describing it as a Sumo outfit.

Julie, thank you so much! You are so sweet to remember and I hope that you had a wonderful anniversary yourself. We celebrated 30 years this year! Unfortunately, the evening was spent at Back to School night at our son's school. We did sneak away the night before, though, for a special anniversary dinner.

I hope Emmy is feeling better, and Happy Birthday to Ben. I'm sure he will LOVE his Wall-e puzzle!

I've been scratching my head and pondering what my strangest birthday present ever was, when suddenly it hit me - my baby brother, born on my third birthday! He's 52 years old now and still as strange as ever!

My father-in-law once gave me this crazy, crazy red fake fur jacket for my birthday. Like, my 48th birthday. Fortunately it was from Macy's and I was able to return it for something more, uh, suitable.

Mine would have to be a set dictionaries when I was 18 years old. The person who gave me the dictionaries was MY HUSBAND.

I'm throwing in the best birthday gift I ever received too - Jasmine and Rosie for my 30th. These were also from MY HUSBAND.

Biscuitsmom, did they actually wrap that up? I once read of a poor teenaged girl who had to open a giant duffel bag of tampons for a Christmas gift in front of a bunch of relatives. Oh, the humiliation!

Hmm, I can't really think of a strange but appreciated gift right now, but I can think of a strange (and unappreciated) gift I got for Christmas one year. A cheap bottle of foundation from a dollar store. And it was from someone who lived in another state and obviously would have no idea what shade I would need anyhow. I thought it was strange. It's hard not to read into some gifts, right?

These have brought many chuckles! My strangest was a Christmas gift from my grandfather...an insect pinning board and insect pins. You arranged recently deceased bugs on it to dry in position for your collection. I think it's stranger than the cake of Lava soap (Forest Pine scent) he usually gave me, but not much.

Oh, some corkers for sure, I can't believe somebody bought you an insect board Joy. Angie I would love to have seen your face when you unwrapped your dictionaries. Do you still use them? I often use a dictionary at work, spell check is just not reliable enough.

Debora, a baby brother certainly would be a strange gift, how sweet you both share a birthday. my girls were both born at the same time 21:03.

NK, Yup, it was! lol....oh, the poor girl you wrote about- she'll never forget that, I bet! Joy, OY! That IS weird, alright....for Xmas, 2 yrs ago I got a set of 3 XXXL Mens tee shirts from my brother-in law and his wife- I was NOT amused. The following yr I got a childs-size small cartoon tee from them! Do they hate me, or what? lol....they've never met me.....

I once got a fishing pole for my birthday from someone who didn't really care too much about things I liked...Oh yea, that would be my ex- first husband
Needless to say I DON"T nor have I ever fished...Laughable now:)
