what is your favorite Fall trend?

mine is houndstooth!

I wore this outfit for a meeting this morning with a potential collaborator whose role is crucial to our program. I thought there was a good chance my boss would be in jeans (as it's Friday) and I didn't want to look super different from her.

So I put the mini-houndstooth pants with a denim-looking shirt and my suede booties that tone surprisingly well with the pants. I felt ready for anything in this outfit.

Result: boss was not in jeans. Potential collaborator was (with a distractingly fab belt).

So.... what shape, pattern, color, or other Fall trend are you loving right now?

This is my type of season ! I LOVE menswear and the jewel tones that are everywhere. The real deep saturated colors.

Leather (of which I have plenty, but can't get enough of), houndstooth (still searching for a piece; can't decide whether I want a dress or a midi-skirt) and oversized cocoon coat (As a petite, I won't be sporting this one. But I already tried the fashion forward cut in sweaters following @Diana's comments on a post of mine).

Moreover, I do like your pairing of jeans and houndstooth. Looking good for meeting and Friday evening out!

oh yes, mixed media, mostly the leather and leather trims on wools and knits. But also colors like burgundy and forest green. I am having a happy fall in both.

Looser (fluid) knitwear and the color oxblood/burgundy. Both longtime favorites, regardless of whether they were trendy or not. I am also liking that bootcuts are back, because I never really stopped wearing them. They work with my IT tendencies.

The pattern is not completely crisp and uniform and I am fine with that. Pay attention to the actual inch measurements because it runs small compared to my other belts.

Can't wait to be belt twins with you!

Oh my goodness Angie! They match my belt! And the buckles are neither silver nor gold, a huge plus in my eyes! And they look comfortable! And I so wanted something that functioned like the snakeskin Pettys without being them--they would look great with white jeans! This is me, <<in orbit>>!

My favorite trend? I think fluid fits is an easy winner for me. Trying to remember what the other trends were anyway....

(Just looked up Angies list - I also really like mixed media, but don't have any yet, same for tall boots. I love menswear inspired stuff, and gentle pointy toes. I still think the fluid fits are my favorite!)

Magenta jewel tones. I've been searching for magenta for the loooongest time and I finally own multiple magenta items! They are totally my colour.

Nancy, lol, I had pointy toes already too! I never got the memo that they were out! I do think they're the most elegant toe shape, though I like the others too.

I like mixed media, too. I like the menswear patterns, like houndstooth and tweed. I'm thinking of getting a houndstooth scarf, and I've got my eye on this skirt at Loft.

I love burgundy/oxblood, too.

I'm probably the last one to jump on the bandwagon, but I love moto jackets and booties.

All houndstooth lovers: I tried on this scarf at the Santa Monica Zara, but Angie said it was too bulky for me. I agree 100% but was still sad. Maybe one of you longer-necked fabbers can wear it for me!

This is a dangerous fall for me. Leather, mixed media, houndstooth, burgundy, cobalt blue, tall boots...love 'em all.

Is that a houndstooth belt? I love it! I've been considering a black and white belt. Where is it from?

Loving the fluid fits and houndstooth too, but for my IT self, most definitely bootcuts and tall boots. Like Aquamarine, I've never stopped wearing either one. Only wish I had more cooler weather as I'd happily alternate my bootcuts-one-day, skinnies-tall-boots-the-next pattern year-round if I could without succumbing to heat stroke. Sigh.

I'm smitten with plaids, especially houndstooth. I have an older black winter coat, nothing special, that I'm hoping to infuse with new life via houndstooth gloves and/or scarf.
I, too, would sign a contract with someone wearing that fabulous houndstooth belt!

It's not fall for me yet but I have been liking mixed media since last year.
Funny about the houndstooth. I remember early spring 2012 asking about a jacket for my possible interview capsule and hearing it was a more classic, staid print. What a difference a season makes lol.
