What is your favorite fall fragrance?

And I mean something besides the fresh autumn air! I'm talking about fragrances of the spray or dab on variety.

I have a complete wardrobe of fragrances which I change with the seasons. My all-time fav for fall is Estee Lauder Alliage (French for 'mixture'), which was the first true sport fragrance. It's crisp and fresh and agrees with my body chemistry in a good way - very important with fragrances.

What is your favorite fragrance for fall? Or do you have a favorite you wear daily?

I like Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar for fall and winter, but I do wear it other times of the year too.

I'm just short of obsessed with two Bond No. 9 fragrances. High Line for Spring/Summer, and Chinatown for Fall/Winter.
Since I can't AFFORD that, I'll stick with the samples and wearing my husband's John Varvatos. I wear the original scent and he wears the Vintage scent.

Laurence Dumont's Tendre Madeleine. It's kind of like L de Lolita Lempicka, but stronger and more spicy. A little like a churro, lol.

Hmm, I never thought about changing scents with the seasons. I always wear Clinique Happy - sometimes Happy To Be and sometimes Happy Heart. One is more citrusy the other more flowery, depending solely on my mood

I was lucky enough to meet with a sales guy at Saks who GAVE us samples b/c we bought one as a gift (rare atomizer with Wall Street scent). Sigh.

I can't do perfume due to my son's allergies, but I usually switch to Amber paste perfume oil in the colder months from my normal Persian garden perfume oil. I think I might try to look for something new, though. I don't love the Amber.

ahhh man. i nearly toppled off my chair to answer this! (i'm still around....life kicking me in the head but I promise that I'm dressed more days than not when I wander outside the door) seriously, I was pretty slumped down in my office chair with rollers and when I saw your question I sat up immediately and nearly toppled off the chair as it rolled backwards with my momentum...

now....favorite fall fragrances: Black Cashmere (in the pebble bottle), Cuir de Lancome, Cabochard (non vintage...no $ for vintage), Ombre Rose (more yr round but I reach for it for comfort nowadays), Gucci by Gucci, Bvlgari's Omia, EL Jasmine White Moss, DK Gold, Dior Hynotic Poison...some more but my mind is running empty. Those are just my Fall and Winter pretties.....I have Spring/Summer pretties as well.

I like to change my scent daily. i'm not loyal to one, i love them all equally so they all get air time. i haven't been able to add any to the collection in awhile *pout*.

I have yet to test Alliage...I gave Knowing a spritz recently actually....it was beautiful. Unsure if it fits me though...but I made favorable notes to retry in a year or 2. if it fell out the sky I'd wear it happily.

Chewy, I'm interested--do perfume oils not impact people with allergies, while eau de perfume does? I have never heard that, but if that's the case, it might provide me with some options (I generally stay away from scents because I don't want to exacerbate the allergies of anyone I might be around).

I have been only wearing one perfume for so long, it's from Banana Republic- W- I think! I will have to test some of the favorites here...time for a change.

I've worn only one fragrance for the last 10 years: Eau de Charlotte by Annick Goutal. It's warm and cozy but light. I love it still:)

I'm a Jo Malone fanatic and for the past 6 months or so have been wearing a combination of Grapefruit with Orange Blossom (I spray one on and then the other) and I love the two scents together. I even love it when I grab something that I've worn but haven't laundered because it has the vague remnants of the combined scent on it. I do often change up fragrances as I move into fall/winter, but I'm still loving the Grapefruit and Orange Blossom so much that I don't think I'll be switching soon...

Ah phooey- I was hoping to be able to sing the praises of the scent of decaying leaves. I am in the market for a new fragrance, so I look forward to hearing others' suggestions.

Thanks for the replies, ladies! We have a wide variety of preferences here, I see. And it's interesting to note that some of you have a permanent favorite, while others have multiple favs. One thing is for sure, it's always best to try a scent at the fragrance counter first. If you still like it after several hours, its for you. Those after-tones CAN be strange!

Oh Barbara! such truth! if there is anything that i try hard to get my friends and family to understand is not purchase a scent from first impression alone...those top notes are there to lure in shoppers who make snap decisions on fragrance! though many new mainstream releases have very little development to write home about STILL it's important to get to that 'dry down' bc that's what you're buying. The top notes last mere minutes.

i'm a bit of a perfumista......unfortunately I have no friends who can relate....they all back away slowly when i start gesturing wildy on fragrance, lol.

lady, the after-tones are EVERYTHING! I too love to spritz (myself) with reckless abandon at the fragrance counters!

My favs: Burberry London, CK Be, Estee Lauder Alliage, Lauren by Ralph Lauren
Oldies, but favs: Charlie- Original, Charlie Red, Charlie White, Charlie Sunshine
Ebay finds only, rare: Avon Sportif, Avon Zany, Jil Sander No. 4

Every day, I apply JUST enough scent to avoid leaving the dreaded vapor trail!

Mine is Eau de rochas by Rochas. It's not as floral so seems more fall/winter.

CK Be has been the only scent on my body in years....I just click with it in a way that I never have with anything else..I've tried going by the perfume counter (with bf in tow, as I trust his olfactory sense more than my own) but neither of us have liked anything as much as Be.

CK Be is at the top of my list too, Srujana. It's my 'weekend' fragrance!

Steph- not necessarily, but we were able to find certain perfume oils that don't bother him (whereas in a blended perfume there always seemed to be something that did).
