What is your favorite boot style?

I was wondering about this yesterday, after falling for a a pair of brown riding boots with lace-up detail. But the thing is, I think I ONLY like riding boots and military boots, and then, lace-up booties. I can also love a riding boots with a stacked high-heel, but that's it. I don't like slouched, or cowboy, or pointy toes, or those with really really thin heels... I can totally appreciate the look on others, don't get me wrong, but I don't love them.

So I was wondering if this is just me, or some people just like some particular styles?

It's funny because other than boots, I like super feminine clothing, but it seems that when it comes to shoes, especially boots, I get all rough and masculine lol

Photo is a pair of boots I found on the net that look a bit like the ones I saw on the store (but these are vintage and probably cooler). The ones I saw are not that high, I think, and probably are a bit tougher, although I don't remember them THAT clearly.

Now, don't take offense, I am a fan.

I love boots they are my #1 favorite footwear. However, like you, I tend to gravitate toward masculine boots. Part of this is that I don't wear heels much and need a durable leather that will hold up to my snowy mountain climate. But on the other hand, I don't have a feminine style to begin with. I love cowboy boots, but other than that I am more classic Frye's and Docs than stilettos.

I wear boots almost every day in winter and winter is very long here. I have a number of pairs including a few riding style, a few that are patent, stacked heels, had a moto pair for a while. I stick to mostly black and brown and most are low heeled.

That was a total non-answer. I guess I don't know if I have a favorite after all.

I cannot bat for any team on this one-- I love too many kinds of boots! My ancient brown cowboy boots (I want red ones, too!), my dressy thin-heeled brown ones, plus I lust after the distressed Frye motorcycle ones...

Don't really care for Docs, though. I like them on other people, but the pair I bought in college always felt like I was wearing someone else's shoes.

I have heels, flats, stacked, wedge, leather, patent, perforated, sweater knit, knee high, ankle, lace up, zip, pull on, and lastly good old Sorels for 3 feet of snow! Red, blue, white, black, brown, cognac. Although I have plenty of different ones, I have pretty specific likes and 90% of boots don't do it for me!

I like many types, so it's hard to pick a favourite. It's easier to list those I'm not crazy about, and those are more or less in line with your least favourites. I'm not wild about the cowgirl look or the slouchy-boot look either. I also have a strong aversion to over-the-knee boots; they always remind me of those rubber things you go fishing in (hip waders?), if they're flat, or of part of a prostitute's get-up, if they're heeled. And they are unflattering. Even tall girls with thin legs, who can sort of pull them off, look better in tall boots that end below the knee.

And even my knee highs with heels have a chunkier heel. No pointy toes or spiked heels for me! I agree that it's just a personality thing.

I like this question because I'm still finding my "boot identity". I bought beautiful brown riding boots last year and when I tucked jeggings into them, I felt silly. I've always worn knee high black boots with black skirts but that's it. I also got Frye Melissa shorties last and loved them! Next are some black Carson Fryes if Zappos ever gets my size back in stock. I don't like over the knee boots or Doc Martens either but Angie rocks them!

For my own style they must be comfortable, low heeled or flat. Either dressy or rugged. Any length!

I guess a classic riding boot, rugged combat boot, and pretty cream boot are my absolute faves.

I love all boots - I used to think I hated over the knee boots; but after Angie's post today, I find myself cravinga pair!

Classic knee-high equestrian-style riding boots are my absolute favorite.
I'm on team flats, so I favor low-heeled boots as well.

I like flat or chunky low heel boots of almost all lengths and styles. I am not sure about ankle boots though - I am trying to branch into them too but they feel a bit leg cutting worn over jeans. I like the look of OTK boots on others - like Angie or Phoebe today but nothing I tried on worked for me yet. I also like the look of slouchy boots - I adore 2 pairs I have, I find they add extra dimension to the outfit.
