I have a belt addiction so it's hard to choose a favorite (and I'm an uber fan of cool and unusual belt buckles, so have many).
So if I had to choose just one from the very, very many I own (the vast majority of which were thrifted or snagged via flea market and ebay over the years) it would be a warm caramel brown vintage leather one with stamped-embossed details along the edges. I thrifted it in SF many years ago for something like $8 and I wear the hell out of it because the warm brown goes so well with so many things. It is also one of those belts that has a snap onto the buckle, so I can switch out the basic brass buckle that came with it for one of my many other buckles if I want to.
Here's a close up of it with my vintage turquoise chunk and sterling buckle that I wore it on last week (excuse the hair elastic wrapped on it. I often store them on whatever belt I'm wearing and have also found they're handy for holding the end in place when a belt is a bit too long).
