I like #1 even when shoulders look broad (I think)
I think becos of lining at neck it's looks too casual for work.
What do u ladies think?
Shoes are not seen nude low heel wedge (patent leather).

One way to address the casual neckline would be to add a scarf. I think a topper like a blazer or cardigan (you could belt over the cardi) would dress this up a bit more for work.

I agree # 2 works better to me because of the black trim at the neckline but the neckline is pretty casual for work. A black cardigan or jacket would help make this more work appropriate. I also like the belt too, it's a nice organic touch to a very graphic modern outfit. I just love green with black and white stripes so the formula is phenomenal.

I think you have different levels of formality in one outfit and that is hard to reconcile. The pencil skirt is more dressy/ business casual and the top and knotted belt are very casual. I find that I struggle with that a lot.
I do like #1 better, I find that the black collar fights with the belt. I'd love to see how it looks with the shoes.

@zapotee I didnt know that knotted belt is more casual. I put knot as I don't know what to do with extra long end.

@day vies, like you I think I really like stripe with green. I have a silk blouse I need to try and then repost.

Problem with the blouse is puffing/slipping so hard to tuck and its too long to wear as is.

But will post the pic soon.

If you wear a thin cotton layer under the blouse it will stop the slip and help it stay in place. That tip had worked wonders for me.

I actually find the banded neckline less casual. You could also always make it dressier with a jacket on top. To my eye, it is indeed the way you've knotted the belt that casualizes the outfit. Adding a topper would hopefully hide the long end too? Or could you make your own extra carrier loop out of grosgrain ribbon or similar to tuck away the end, if this is a common problem with this belt?

I actually like the casual T with the pencil skirt. I'm trying to make my work outfits more business casual, and this is one way to do it. You could wear the shirt un-tucked and put wide black belt over top, if you have one.

I vote for #2 absolutely. The proportions of the short-sleeved tee just work better than the long-sleeved one.
