Lol, I love that story, Anne! Great compliments.
About a year after my grandmother died, I ran into the Dean of her church, who knew her well (she was very active as a volunteer). I had met and chatted with him several times over the years and liked him very much. On this occasion we got into a conversation and were reminiscing about her, and he said, "You know, you really remind me of her. She was so glamorous and elegant, and I think you're just like her in a lot of ways." It really made my day, not because someone thought I was glamorous (I don't think of myself that way), but just to be compared to my grandmother was a huge compliment. I really looked up to and admired her. She was kind of larger than life. To me, anyway. That's the best compliment I think I ever received.
