Hey Greenglove!
WOW you're 50?! I NEVER in a million years would have guessed that! You look so young! Congratulations! I'm crossing my fingers that I look that good when I get older...
I understand being disappointed in the body type that you end up being, especially because every other site talks about how "the hourglass is the most ideal" and all of the compliments towards other shapes sound almost forced, at least to me. I always dreaded being considered an inverted triangle (which I am) because I felt like that meant I had "man shoulders" and that I was too masculine. So when I heard hat my measurements meant I was an hourglass, I was elated. But it never felt right, and the tips for dressing never looked right. But when I try things based on the correct shapes for the correct parts of my body, I look fabulous; and that's really what it's all about! It's to help you look amazing, not make you feel bad.
My tip to you (if you haven't already) is to read Angie's specific blog articles about your shape(s), like "The Racy Rectangle" and "The Statuesque Inverted Triangle" and "The Hot Hourglass" (you can search for them in the google search bar). I've never read articles about each body shape that seemed so accurate and sincere in its compliments and observations. I've never, EVER liked the idea of being predominantly inverted triangle until I read Angie's blog, and now I couldn't be more proud!
Also, finding celebrities that match your shape makes you feel pretty good about it too. Charlize Theron has always been one of my favorites, and now she's an even better style icon for me because she shares my body type.
So good luck to you, and be proud of what you've got, because it's amazing, and it's one of the few things on this earth that is 100% uniquely yours.
