What is left in jackets ?

I read an article recently about the author's trip to France. She stated that everywhere she went in Paris and the surrounding area, women were either wearing black leather jackets or denim jackets with everything. I have just started wearing each of these and I like it very much. I also like blazers. But what else is there ? ( I realize that I don't live in Paris, LOL, but it made me notice how ubiquitous it is in my little corner of the world too)

Oh yes. Black (moto) leather jackets everywhere. Denim jackets too, and all kinds of utility jackets and parkas. Classic black or navy blazers too.

Oh yes, Ornella! Even here in Berlin we have "Oktoberfest", with all the girls wearing their fashion dirndls... If they would be the real deal, alright. But they're not and I just don't want to see it anymore.

Denim jackets seem to be having a moment after hedi slimane wire one at the end of his show.

Black leather jackets are eternally cool.

Ornella, I just bought a Jcrew regent jacket that I will return because of the Oktoberfest vibe!

Silky bombers?

Around these parts, it has been too warm for most jackets up until now. But I expect to see my fair share of ultility, lightweight quilted, pleather and leather, heavy fabric hoodies, and trench coats starting about now. As well as denim.

I've only needed jackets in the evening so far, and so far I have worn:

2 blazers
2 denim jackets
1 heavy cardigan

Suz, I am a heavy sweater ( sweater coat type of thing ) person. But I especially like jackets with dresses. I was using my denim and lightweight leather jacket almost like sweaters ( to wear under heavy coats ). I pulled out my heavy, navy Boden sweater jacket the other day. It has been chilly the last week.

I am mostly a jackets person, but I am enjoying heavy sweaters more these days, too. I agree, though -- jackets are best with dresses, and in my casual life it's almost always a denim jacket with those. Unless it's a denim skirt, ha! Then I have to find an alternative.
