I did a better job of documenting my outfits this week.

1) Monday

We had an impromptu Valentine's Day celebration lon Friday night. We had tickets to the opera to see "The Marriage of Figaro." After the show we went out for fancy desserts and coffee. It was a lovely evening.

This is a questionable skirt from the viewpoint of age appropriateness but I can't help it, I love this skirt. It makes me feel like a princess.

As you might have noticed, I have a new favorite way of tying my scarves. There is a tutorial here for those interested:

Cons are it looks a bit bulky and you don't get the elongating effect of wearing a scarf. Pros are, you can transform any scarf into a snood or infinity scarf without spending a dime. It looks very contemporary. It is also super warm. And finally you can also wear necklace in addition to the scarf if you want to. I am completely in love!

I'm always a fan of your outfits and this week was no exception! All are marvelous but I especially luv Wed and Fri. The layering on Wed is so fab! The simple elegance on Friday with all the gorgeous details in the accessories is lovely!

LoP - I haven't been to Turkey in a while so pretty much all I have from Turkish stores are my precious scarves! I am looking forward to my next trip. Also, I don't really make my jewelry from scratch, I wish I could. I just glue things together I posted a picture of the necklace in the comments.
Julie - We had another snow storm on Wednesday so our winter is not over yet. Tuesday was relatively warm so I took advantage of it to wear something a bit more springy.
Christie - I'm 30.

Bella: I've been so inspired by your posts on YLF and always enjoy seeing your style. I don' think you've ever worn anything I didn't like. Saturday's outfit blew me away. I love the contrast of the fitted turtle with the floaty skirt. The boots and tights are great, but the turquoise crossbody and pop of lime scarf are FAB! So chic.

I love them all! I don't think that skirt is age-inappropriate as styled, for a 30-year-old. If you ever read the Fashion for Nerds blog, Audi wears skirts like that as layering pieces all the time, and she's in her late 30s, I think?

Bella - I really like your style! You are so good at layering and picking out little bits of color to draw one's eye from here to there.

I like the way the necklace works with the scarf in Monday's outfit. I also like the cuffs turned up and the black belt.

Tuesday - the colors in the scarf are just great with the color of the dress. Wonderful.

Wednesday is a layering masterpiece.

Evening at the opera is lovely but I would freeze to death in that, even indoors! I hope you are in a warm climate or had a very warm coat!

Saturday - that flirty skirt looks great on you, and I particularly like the way you made it more casual with the shirt and boots. I also really like the way the color of the bag picks up some of the color in the scarf. What a great pop of color for this outfit!

Jenny - I wore my moto jacket over my fancy dress. It is too cold for me as well. But there were quite a few ladies with bare shoulders who braved the cold.

vani - the tights are from Target's Rodarte collection. I don't know if any of you have seen it in stores but that collection was made exclusively out of cheap polyester. These tights were the only thing that caught my eye and I kept going back to the store to find them without any success. The website would tell me that they were in my store but employees would keep telling me that they were not in yet. This happened at at least 3 separate Target stores. Finally I gave up on my quest. And what do you know? They show up at my Target a couple of weeks later and they were on clearance too! So I got them for half the price I was actually willing to pay. Happy ending!

Let me know if you have any suggestions on how to style the tulle skirt. I really like it and want to wear it more often.
