The fashion part:
My son (Resident Artist #1 in the April household, spring 2020 tour) gifted me a pair of Birkenstock x Proenza Schouler "Milano" sandals in the black and white colorway. Not sure my horrid feet will appreciate the rigid footbed and the hard leather straps but I hope so.

Like all fashion gifts from Little Mr. April, they are cooler than I deserve.

The garden part:
Mr. April followed instructions and presented me with an encyclopedia of organic gardening and something like The Big Book of Compost. (Mr. April gets nervous about gift giving and much prefers the recipient to just say what they want. I don't like that but I accommodate him.)

The birds-in-the-garden part:
Resident Artist #2, who is from China and takes gift-giving extremely seriously, prepared a fabulous Chinese feast for the whole clan and gave me a gorgeous birdhouse/birdfeeder from the MoMA store.

The pitching in part:
Our third Temporary Resident took on the thankless task of fetching things for the chef, thus making the festive dinner possible.

We opened a nice champagne and toasted YLF.
