Angie and I had the most wonderful time catching up while she was in the Netherlands, and we, of course, did a bit of shopping too;-)
Angie got gorgeous stuff (see her forum thread) and helped me find some things that will work well for my F/W wardrobe and casual lifestyle. Thanks so much for the guidance and advice, Angie!

I bought:
- A burgundy cardigan with great texture and a pearl pendant necklace at COS.

- Very comfortable brown (with a greyish tinge) suede booties at the same store where Angie found her stunning new booties. Booties with a higher shaft to wear with cropped pants and jeans in colder weather were high on my needs list, and these fit the bill.

- I got lucky at the Mephisto store where I found a pair of white sandals on sale. Comfy and fun Summer footwear has been tough to find for me since I started wearing orthotics, so I'm chuffed I came across these (which I can wear without orthotics).

- Two patterned blouses with nice drape that are a little more tailored. We decided these can be my "new T-shirt": they're streamlined, dressy yet relaxed, and can work on their own or layered underneath cardigans etc. It's fun to switch things up regularly, so I'm thrilled to have this new silhouette for the Fall season (I used to wear this type of blouse often when I first joined YLF, then went through a more oversized phase, and am now embracing the look again).

Also: Angie immediately realized that the COS cardigan would look fab with the plaid & floral shirt I bought at the NAS, and with the burgundy ombré booties I found in Arnhem last year (items pictured below). It took us both a few minutes to remember that I also bought the Halogen cropped pants in burgundy, which meant that I had a complete outfit already (hilarious:-)
The cardigan also looks great with a fuchsia blouse I got last year.
And the two blouses work brilliantly with cardigans I already had in my closet.

Let me be the first to say that it was all KILLER STUNNING on my darling friend. We always have a ball shopping together. I love everthing, and sweet Inge - show the pics of the fashion show you did at home mixing and matching the new items. Killer GORGEOUS. People will feel inspired.

I love that we found some new stores for you to shop in - like Costes. The blouses are your new "tees". LOVE how streamlined and flattering they are. Fun to come full circle.....

What a lovely set of outfits you've devised here! I really like the two new blouses. It is fun to get to know an old-favourite style again after a bit of a break. Perhaps we're all itching for a bit of a change after years of drapey knits.

Of course I'm especially excited about the colour combos -- love the idea of the burgundy with the pink asymmetrical top, especially! That's always a slightly unexpected yet brilliant autumn combination. And a long burgundy sweater can be a real wardrobe workhorse, in my closet, anyway. My own is actually more cranberry than burgundy, but even so I find it mixes well with most things in my closet.

As for the sandals, what a great find. You'll be happy to have those next year when the season changes.

The maroon/merlot, pink, and navy mix will be wonderful with your 'Snow White' colouring ( dark hair + fair ski). I think getting the NAS Halogen crops in merlot was genius!

Will try the dress with the cropped flares asap. I was also thinking that the new cardigan might work over the dress (paired with tall boots).

I’m super pleased with the new items because, as you said, it will help me create a great number of outfits with the clothes already in my closet.

Suz - *nodding about needing a bit of a change*. And yes! I was so pleasantly surprised when I tried on the new cardigan with that fuchsia blouse. It’s a bit unexpected but such a good combination. I love your cranberry items, Suz, and won’t say no if I ever come across a cardigan or fab sweater in cranberry (it’s another one of my favourite colours;-) I always think it looks extra stunning and rich with your hair. Sandals: exactly!!

Jaime - I always look forward to my days with Angie SO much! COS is absolutely one of the stores I always try to visit, and I too have a feeling the new blouse will become workhorses.

Joy - I haven’t seen them around much at all, Joy. And have a feeling they will be kind of a fringe trend (COS often has more fringe and avant-garde items mixed into their assortment). I do really love the idea of a full-length wide-leg trouser for myself, but I prefer them a bit more tailored and a bit less slouchy than on the model.
