What I bought - a knit, a cardi, classic tall flat boots

OK, so after the feedback on my season transition/weight gain frustration post

I went shopping and bought these Aquatalia boots. They are waterproof, zip up for easy over-pants wearing, and have elastic at the back for a perfect, no-gape fit:

It wasn't on my list but it was very flattering, so I couldn't pass it up. A bit depressing that the size up fit so well. *sigh*

The cardi is what I was shopping for. It covers my bum and isn't a neutral. All my bottoms are neutrals (black, grey, charcoal, denim) and so I am aiming to stick with COLORs for my tops, to ensure maximum versatility.

Man, it was HARD to find cardis/tunics that weren't grey, black, brown or tan! What has happened to all the lovely color??

Fantastic purchases! Those boots are absolutely fabulous!!! So sleek! I share your frustration on the colors. This is one of the reasons why I like J Crew - they usually offer a better range of colors than most stores!

Wow Jenava, SCORE on all counts! I particularly love your boots, perfect fit, perfect length and practical. What more could a girl want? (Grumble, why is it that I can't find anything like that down here. Grrrr.)

LOL...thanks Katiepea and Shana. The boots may be one of my wisest purchases, honestly I think I'll have them still when I'm 80!

I guess I wouldn't care so much r.e. the weight if it were highlighted every time I try to fit into last season's pants!

<sigh> I really understand where you are coming from, I've had that same rollercoaster ride many times myself over the years.

(I just want to reiterate that as a total outsider who didn't see your other frustrated post, I can honestly say that you *really* do look lovely.)

I was feeling frustrated because I didn't know what to go shopping for and everyone pretty much agreed I should find boots first and tunics or long cardis. I was very focussed in my shopping trip, and didn't really find much in the way of tunics, sadly. But this sweater fit the bill and the boots are perfect. So I feel like I owe YLF for making me feel much more calm with these new pieces in my closet and the temps swinging wildly between 80 and 60!
