I'd like to see...
(1) shoes with grippy soles, especially when walking on slick polished stone floors, glassy-smooth tiles, wet cobbles and waterlogged dirt tracks
(2) said shoes to be also rainproof and breathable
(3) said shoes to also look less like a makeshift mechanism (non-matching soles and uppers, clog-like 'comfort' shapes that still cause corns and blisters and massacre the bunions, closures that are clips or velcro strips when elastic or laces are easier to replace or repair)
(4) sturdy, flat, smooth bra and camisole straps and back panels on bras too
(5) choice of 'nude' shades in each underwear brand and style --- we need this to change the same way we needed foundations to come in more than three colours, people!
(6) option to at least get pants, dresses, skirts hemmed to preferred length in-store. The first is common in my country and done free of charge, and really, I see no reason for it to be less than universal, given what an easy alteration it typically is. Also: the option to get really minor alterations done in-store for larger stores --- move a button or hook to adjust waistband, add a extra hole in a belt, change out buttons, for a reasonable cost
(7) cute *woven* cotton nightgowns that are neither greatgrandma's castoffs nor tweenybopper!
(8) secure closures on ALL bags
(9) evening bags that actually hold a wallet, a phone, minimal cosmetics (compact, lipstick, eyeliner and mascara wand at least), a small comb, miniature perfume bottle, a few hair pins or a clip, and small stash of feminine supplies
(10) the option to mix and match not only different sizes but petites, juniors and misses sizes for suit jackets and skirts/pants as well as two-piece swimsuits. we DO all need different proportions, you know?
(11) exercise gear that does not assume all active people like a 'sporty' style and all yoga-practising people are interested in the Om or the spa feel. I'm not a fan of racing stripes and piping and golf collars and stripes, or 'peppy' slogans and cartoons --- just because I want to run doesn't mean I can't stop to smell the flowers or grab a coffee while looking less like I took a wrong turn off the local athletic team's practice turf or track! We get this with swimwear apparently and a few tennis dresses, but why not other sports? WHY is sporty a lifestyle choice as well as an aesthetic one? Why can't I 'run like a girl' without sporting a slogan that says so? Why not have a choice of styles to all tastes, just as with clothes for work, or dating, or going to school etc. You know, making activity a part of life rather than this specialized gear-requiring activity that is a choice only for *some* people rather than normative for all? (I DO realize some activities require specialized gear; but my beef is with garments that do nothing different from a regular pair of stretchy pants or a T-shirt but look different just because they are *meant for sports*)
