What do you think of this dressy jumpsuit?

I went shopping in Maastricht last week and have been a teeny bit obsessed with Max Mara ever since (they had a fab store in M).

I was browsing their site and saw this jumpsuit. I love the retro dressy look and can totally picture this with a cropped fantastic leather jacket over it. Not sure about that colour for myself and apparently it is linen, so it might wrinkle terribly. Not a fan of that either.

But in general: do you like it (yay) or do you think it's not so fab? (nay)

I... like it a lot, surprisingly. (I am trying to be open minded about jumpsuits even though they aren't something I like for myself.) To me, this just looks like a smart outfit - the horizontal banding at the waist makes it look more like separates than a jumpsuit. A cropped jacket would be my first thought, too.

I think it looks fab here! In reality it might not work as well for a variety of reasons (hard to get perfect fit, being linen, etc), but I think it looks great in this photo.

Contrary to other people I like jumsuits and this one is beautiful.If you cam pull of this sillhouette of pants it is a yay from me.

I love it on the model, styled as is. I also think the appeal is more about the overall silhouette, rather than the fact it is a jumpsuit. A very similar look could be recreated with seperates in a more forgiving fabric than linen and also allowing more versatility to mix and match other outfits.

But i think linen is fab! So cool and refreshing in summer! I have white linen pants for the beach/resort wear. They don't wrinke "that much". And the jumpsuit has a nice retro vibe!

I like jumpsuits too! Not all but this one is very cool
This one has a pretty similar upper part, however the "pants" are a different silhouette.

This is it! So far, most of the jumpsuits I've seen are either very evening-ish or casual, and this one hits the mark exactly!!

I had a very similar jumpsuit from Anne Klein in the early 90s in navy, and I wore a floaty chiffon blouse with a large collar and voluminous sleeves under it. It had a narrow belt, and the fabrication was some sort of wool blend.

This jumpsuit is perfection!

Stunning! I don't like jumpsuits, but a lot because of practical reasons. This looks amazing. I wouldn't wear it (I don't think, for the practical reasons again) so hope to see someone else wearing it instead!

I, too, LOVE it, but linen and I are not friends. Oh those lap wrinkles are my nemesis. Are you going to try it?! I want to see it on you.

It's gorgeous. But linen never passes my "scrunch it in your hand test". Anything wrinkled after that is left on the rack.

Beautiful! but only get a jump suit if you have a bladder of iron. A sleeveless one like this is the only kind to wear if one is out for drinks and needs to use a public restroom. Don't ask me how I know.

Okay, update: I saw it in the shop today, there was only one left, not my size, so unfortunately I couldn't try it on. It was on the mannequin and looked beautiful, yet the fabric was a little less substantial than in the picture. And it was 100% linen... For that alone I'd be very hesitant, because of the wrinkling factor + as Aunty pointed out linen sometimes doesn't look very flattering from behind;-)

I would really, really loved to have tried it on though. I think I'm tall enough to pull it off and this style is just so right! The perfection combination of retro, elegant, dressy but not too evening-y etc.

Lavinia: thanks for the link, it's nice, but I prefer the wide legs of this one.
