Another opportunity to Not Wear Jeans coming up, I'm so excited. I have a luncheon tomorrow and Saturday it's a "tea" with my future DIL and her family..

I'm wondering what you think of this new striped sweater with the pencil skirt and the gray slacks. Do these work? Somehow these looked better to me in the mirror...ps. I have nude micro fishnets on but can substitute black (hated to risk breaking another hole in

I love it with the black booties, picking up the black band on the sweater. I think either nude or black hose would be super.

I quite like the pants version. The outfit is quite neutral, which I really like but I wonder if a bit of fun pattern mixing and a pop of color by way of a scarf might add a little something.

I like #3, but I'm biased...I wore the exact same outfit to work today!! Striped sweater, charcoal pencil skirt and black boots. I topped it with a denim jacket.

The black booties and black tall boots look spectacular! The pants outfit looks great, too. I'd also love to see how it looks with a scarf.

I love 2 and 3. Smashing! I don't like wearing scarves to lunch--I always feel like it's going to end up being a bib. I'm not the most graceful eater. You could wear a long pendant. Have fun! You are going to be on stylin' MIL!

#3 with the long boots is my personal favorite, closely followed by the short black booties (#2.

I really like #2. Those booties work so well with the skirt and I adore the gray skirt with the black and white top. Very nice!

Hard to choose but I think I prefer #2 or #4. They all look good to me though.

Carole, I like the top with skirt but you might try tucking the top in the skirt. I agree with Deborah on the addition of a scarf. You could add a red scarf for some colour. The top looks great with the trousers too but I think adding a bright scarf would make it more fun. Alternately, you could also try a statement necklace in a solid colour for some fun.

Okay, purely my opinions, I like 1 and 3 as is. I would like 2 with nude black tights, but as is the bootie-leg-line is too harsh to me. I like 4 but might prefer it with black shoes.

#2 looks fabulous to me!! I like it with the nude stockings, and don't mind the high contrast booties, it looks modern to me.

#2. I really dig those black booties! The black stripe in the sweater picks up the black, and makes it look intentional.

I really love #3 as-is or with nude micro-fishnets! I think #2 would also look lovely with sheer black hose (maybe something printed! pin dots?) or black micro-fishnets :}
