What do you think of this blouse?

I would never pick a blouse like this so can hardly evaluate it and need your help. (It was a handed down item to my mum who offered it to me)
It is originally fron Japan and there's no label but I think it is either silk or polyester.
Better tucked I think.
Please look past casual shoes and no makeup.

Very pretty! It also looks very versatile. I prefer it tucked. I would also remove that white collar (my personal taste of course).

Sisi. Yes. The collar is the rub. The mainreason I wouldn't have bought this myself. I wouldn't try to change this as it's beyond my sewing skills.
DD13 and I agree it looks rather like an air hostess.

No more air hostess if tucked in + intentionally accessorized (perhaps a bright white bag/chunky cuff/shoes?). You can also try with a white skirt, or jeans/pants!

Love the print, but the white tie thing gives me pause , too. There could be a way to build the outfit around it but is it important or useful enough to do that? If it had a plain collar then I would see it as a versatile graphic neutral.

I'm not getting any sense that you personally like this or feel like you want to wear it. For that reason, I'd pass on it.

I like it, it's a little unusual. I like it with the skirt but could also see it more casual with jeans or white jeans.

It is a fun, cute blouse and looks great tucked into the skirt. However, if You really do not like it, I would pass it on to someone else.

I think if you intentionally own and rock the air hostess look it can work! It looks best tucked.

I really like it and don't get a stewardess vibe from it. I think it looks good tucked and can see it with white jeans as someone else mentioned. I also think it might look good untucked if you wear a belt over it or with a blazer to add waist definition.

It fits you well, but the more important question is, how do you feel wearing it?

A few years ago, I bought two tops in the same cut. The colours and fit were flattering, but even at the time, I felt ambivalent about the Peter Pan collar. I never grew to love the collar, and consequently, the tops have been in a holding zone for a rather long time.

I am not crazy about it.
It all depends if you like it and feel confident in it.

I kind of love it. As a super busty girl I can't wear tops like this or bows like that so I like it and wish I could pull it off as well as you can. I like it with the skirt but the shoes are throwing me off. This needs a smart pointy toe whether it's a flat, a pump or a booty and black tights. It has potential!

Thanks to everyone who replied.

I just wanted to say that I don't really feel like I can should say "not what I would have bought" and move on. The fact is that I am such a reluctant shopper that my typical shopping trip leads me around shops for half and hour and then leaving with nothing purchased. My default is just not to buy anything.

And I have benefited from many handed down items, some from YLF and some from other people. Some have become workhorses! Not all are what I would have picked myself.

And I do have, by YLF standards, a smallish clother budget, especially since my spending is dominated by footwear for my fussy feet. I wasn't anticipating a new work blouse for months, maybe even a year.

So seems like there's something of a divide in your opinions. Mum, BTW is quite happy for me not to keep -no pressure from her. And I'd be ok with not keeping either.

I'm just trying to have an open mind and I appreciate all your feedback.

Blondambition - though I wasn't properly dressed, shoes wise, in my picture, I can never wear pointy shoes anyway (sadly)

I like it tucked, and I rather like this blouse on you. Indeed, I really enjoy the contrast of the white neck-tie next to your complexion. It doesn't look at all "off" to me, and I'd definitely wear it if I were you!

Wow Angie. Vote of approval! ! You can have it if I outgrow it in the arms. That's where it is tightest and my arm strength is improving at the moment so it might not fit for long!

It is great tucked into the skirt. It overwhelms you when left untucked, I think. That skirt looks great and seems like a workhorse!

That skirt is 11 years old, part of a suit and still worn regularly. JamC yes a workhorse for sure.

Tucked but vastly improved if you can move the knot off-center. Then it would look awesome.

Then fashion it so that the ends are tucked in or under the white band. That would give it a clean line and look better also. I really don't like the center knot.
