My specs situation is a little dire - I broke a pair earlier this week and so am wearing my backup pair which is rather scratched up (same frame style so they look good at least). Anyway I went a tried some on today. Most were a big bust but I kind of liked these teal ones. What do you think?

#3 is a pair I found online which looks almost identical to my current pair (#4, which I LOVE but can't get any more). The shape and size are an almost exact match. The pair in #3 is from Cynthia rowley. Unfortunately the CR store here doesn't carry the glasses so I'd have to order sight unseen (pun not intended) and they are not 100% refundable, I don't think. On the other hand they are very reasonably priced (like 1/3 the price of the v expensive teal ones) and are likely to fit....

PS- I would not be opposed to getting more than one pair. I probably actually should as I need a backup pair thats not super scratched up. (And I suspect this pair I'm wearing is not in the best shape to be relensed...)

I love the CR pair! Of course I have a pair just like them. Color of the teal is great but I don't like the shape as much for you.

Do you know the fit measurements of your current pair? There's a pair on Warby Parker that looks similar. They have the measurements at the bottom.

Your old pair is stunning on you and say try to get something similar. I love teal color for you but the shape is OK, but not great to me. My current main specs are teal, too.

Jaileen, I tried those at WP and they didn't work at all (nothing at WP did). My issue is a weird combo of needing a wide size with a fairly sharp angle on the bottom. Anything with a round or droopy or just plain too large bottom half looks super droopy on my face.

Una and Tanya, I think you're onto something about the shape. Maybe they're too square, or not upturned enough?

Angie, I do love the color... They have several teal frames at See right now but this was the only one that was even remotely ok looking.

I think it's the down turned corners. I have a total weakness for a good cateye, so I'd stay focused on that since it suits you so well!

I like 3 and your current 4 as well. You have a heart shaped face like me and I've been told that cateye glasses are a good match. They are wide up top where your face is wider and narrow at the bottom. They follow the proportions of a heart shaped face.

This was the best one from warby Parker but I think it's too square/droopy on the bottom. True cat eyes are hard to find! Add that to a wide width and I'm looking for unicorns. I'm seriously considering just biting the bullet and ordering #3, non refundable lens costs and all.

ETA: thanks, Marilyn. I think you're spot on about the face shape and I totally agree with you.

I googled cateye glasses and Zenni came up. I've never heard of them, but they have 133 cateye frames. Some look promising. It's also fun putting them on the model's face.

I like those last ones, Diana. I actually think they have a bit more presence than your current ones.....more weight at the top.

I'm very, very leery of zenni. I've heard a lot of bad things about them and their quality or lack thereof...

Also a lot of things are defined as "cat eye" when they just have a slanted top line. Technically all of these styles I'm showing here are cat eyes...

Well they are pretty cheap. My husband got new glasses recently and the frames were several hundred dollars before lenses. I think all in they were around $800 with a bifocal, coatings, etc.

I have these (below) from La Font and I love them ("Novice"). Mine are less blue than the pic: brown on top and blue on the bottom which seems like it might suit you (I think the second pic). They are not wacky. La Font makes some other gorgeous cat-eye styles too: https://www.lafont.com/the-col.....N/ALL/ALL/ (go to the link and choose WOMAN and cat eye shape).
I got them at Rims and Goggles in Marin (I think there is one in SF). (You may not love the ones I have but there are lots of nice styles.)

A good cat eye is so impossible! My gorgeous frames from Seattle were a total find. Keep looking!

I like the teal color on you, and also it looks like your eye is more centered in the frames that your older glasses.

I use Zenni for back-up glasses, but I wouldn't want them for my main pair.

Diana, have you thought of replacing the lenses in your backup pair if you really still like the frames? I've done this with my current frames because I still quite like them and also the price of both frames and lenses when I know my prescription is about to change. Just a thought.

Ann, I probably will do just that but I don't think it will be my main pair. The reason being that they're not the highest quality frames and have been worn a lot so I worry they will break the way the first pair did (which is not fixable). I actually think they have a design flaw that makes them prone to breakage.

Thanks, everyone. Looks like the verdict is mixed on the teal pair, and I think I am going to skip them for now. Although I do like them, they are very expensive, enough so that I could only justify it if they were my main pair and perfect. And they are not perfect - I am not crazy about either the downturn at the edge of the top or the lighter mint color at the top. And frankly I think they might be a little TOO bold for everyday - don't
get me wrong, I like bold but sometimes I want something a little more
subdued.

I have decided to order the Cynthia Rowley pair (#3), even though I won't be able to try in person first. They are similar enough to my old ones that I think it's worth the risk, plus they are far less expensive than the teal (1/3 the price) so even if I find something better later, I will be happy having them as a backup pair. I really do need some non-scratched glasses ASAP.

Clara and Pil, thanks for the brand recommendations. I will have to see if I can find somewhere that carries them.

I like the teal pair! Do the CR's come in teal? The ones you ordered look good too, and I'm sure they will be great on you.

I'm not wild about the shape of the teal ones, although the colour is fun. I vote to order the CR ones and cross your fingers.

Ordering the CRs sounds smart. Next time, you might want to look at Alain Mikli: the brand usually has a number of versions of cat's eye frames.
