What do you think of these silky pants?

I bought these pants over the winter but haven't worn them because they are so thin and silky. If they don't work to wear out of the house they're so comfy I'll keep them for lounge wear. They have an elastic waistband so I'm not planning on tucking anything in unless I cover the waistband with a belt (which I won't be modeling anytime soon with my expanding belly). How do they look? What do you think of the length? I can lower them about an inch.

fun pattern and great fit. i wonder how it would look if you wore a top with different bottom than cut straight across?

Great pattern - very on trend with the black and white, and the pattern. Two trends in one!

And pattern hides things you want to keep hidden

What shoes are you going to wear them with? They look fine with the heels to me, but I am terrible at PPL still.

I like these on you very much but am unsure of the length. They seem fine as they are with your heels but I think I'd like them even more a bit longer.

I like the fit and the pattern is great Sara - lots of top options to go with the black/white pattern.

I'm afraid they read as too short to me though. Is there any hem allowance you could let down?

They're super comfy and the fabric is so light that they'll be great in the hot summer here. I'll probably wear them with the shoes shown or something similar. When it gets warmer, I'll might wear sandals and most of my nicer sandals have a bit of a heel.

The length reads a bit short to me, as well. Pants this length tend to coordinate better to my eye with flat shoes than with any sort of heel, but I am no expert on PPL, either.

I think the pants look great, the pattern is great and they could work really well for an expanding belly. A little extra length might be nice too.

They look very on trend to me. Silky, patterned, slouchy. Length could be longer but I think you can make this work.

(Is "expanding belly" code for anything?)

Shannon - I can let the hem down about an inch. I actually started to do it and then thought I should get an opinion from the forum since I'm not very good with pant lengths.

Una - I'm 3 months pregnant. It's not a secret but I haven't made an announcement either. I'll do an OT thread eventually but I'm still not interested in lots of discussion yet. I think because I feel old and that people are going to judge me (which makes no sense, I know).

Okay. Didn't mean to pry, just curious if this was just a fleeting moment or an ongoing style issue we'll need to figure out. Will wait for your announcement. I was an older mom too (had my son at 37) so when you feel like discussing I will be there for you!

The fit is great! They need to be either longer or shorter to my eye though.

I like the pants - they will be airy enough to get you through a few more months at least. (I am rogue when it comes to lengths and in your situation they will end up at multiple lengths, but good news is that's ok these days)
Congratulations and I had mine at 38 and 42 and I think you're younger than this (not that it matters). Once you get over all the doctor scares of being a "mature mother" you actually get better care (more ultrasounds and tests are approved by insurance). Just NEVER NEVER NEVER read "what to Expect When you're expecting" Doom and gloom there. Also resist the internet (or treat it with a grain of salt)- too much bad information.

Jjsloane, I could not agree more about "What to Expect"! I'm pretty sure 99% of moms in the world do just fine without following all those rules about hygienic restaurants, etc.

Jjsloane and Una - you guys crack me up with the "What to Expect" book. This is actually my third baby - my other two are boys ages 5 and 7. I'm 39 now so definitely getting the AMA (Advanced Maternal Age) talk from the doctor. Maybe that's my problem - I'm coming up on 40 and then to be told I'm AMA. Ugh!

I really like the pants! If you can let the hems down a wee bit they'll be even better. They'd look great with a high-low top, or over-sized tee, and they should be good for an enlarging belly (Congratulations!)
