Do they fall into the "getting dated" category or are they OK?

I still love the look of the Naturalizer Prissys I showed you guys earlier this week, but am looking at second options with chunkier heels as well, just in case.

Hmm, I loved the Naturalizer ones better.

On a side note, don't know if you would ever do something like this, but ballroom dancing shoes come in white satin and are incredibly comfy. I have had a couple of friends by them for their weddings. The sole is suede and can not be worn outside, but the cobbler would typically add an extra layer of some material to make them outdoor friendly.

Tanya, I agree that I like the Naturalizers better too, but some people expressed concern that the thin heels would get stuck in the grass/dirt. I don't think this will really be an issue except maybe during photos, but am considering other options just in case. (Also, 2 pairs of shoes might be a good idea anyway since my feet get unhappy easily). I am keeping the Naturalizers anyway, since they will be good for other dressy summer events.
Ballroom dance shoes are a good idea too... I will look into them. I do not have the best luck with satin shoes, though, as they don't stretch much and my feet are very fussy, especially around the toes. Are dance shoes treated differently to be more flexible or something? I can't imagine that you'd want to dance in stiff shoes!

Dance shoes are extremely flexible (in the sole I mean). You literally fold them over onto themselves, if you understand what I mean. The satin stretches out with wear, but quite little. And the straps are usually designed to hold your foot very securely in place. They usually come in 2, 2.5 and 3" heights. I find them so much more comfortable than real high heeled shoes.
There are a couple of stores in Boston, there used to be one in the Central Square area on Mass Ave. Those are not the best quality but you can get the idea of the construction.

I like the style, but I'm unsure of how the off white will look with the white dress... I don't think these are the dated kind of platforms, though. My impression from Angie's post was that the monster platforms are getting dated.

i am not too crazy about them, They don't really flow with the dress IMO, I think the dress calls for a shoe without a platform. a more delicate one. I do like the idea of metallics.

Oh, Rae, that's a good point about the colors. The dress is actually an ivory chiffon over a white underlayer, so it sometimes appears white and sometimes ivory. But this may be too cream.

Actually, this is kind of an academic exercise because this particular color is not available in my size anywhere, but I could in theory try to track it down on ebay, etc. I was more interested in getting people's opinions of the general shape/style.

Zap, I think you may be right... but I already have delicate and metallic covered with the silver Naturalizers (and honestly right now i am inclined to just go with them and risk the heel sinking issue). I can't seem to find chunkier heels at 2-2.5" without a platform that don't look too casual or matronly.

I really think the others are better, even though I was one of the worriers about the heel. These aren't bad, they're just not special.

I think either pair would work -- and most people won't notice the shoes anyhow, focusing on your radiant smile and beautiful dress on your big day However, your shoes will be in your photos so I guess you need to decide which pair would work best to be immortalized
