Tried these on the other day. What do you think? A while ago on my one jeans this year thread there were lots of support for getting wide crops.
These are 100% cotton. Does this stretch? Not sure if I should size down.

Try a size down. I like the look, but don’t know about you, but my pants always grow on the drive home...

Thank the cat and rachy. Hope you are right Rachy, because I got the size down and they were pretty tight at the top! Hopefully they will either stretch or I will get slimmer, or at least not bigger!

I wouldn't put them in the dryer ever if they are 100% cotton. I liked the size shown well enough, did the smaller size look better? Super cool jeans, and I still love the hair! YLF!

I would say “no”. They don’t look like they fit very well in the upper thigh area.

They don’t look like the greatest fit to me. I like a bit of slouch but I agree with smittie that there is too much room in that area. I’d keep looking.

So here are pictures of the new one. Tags still on as I am not sure. Divided opinions in my house. DD11 and DH like, DD15 thinks not high waisted enough, which is probably true since my torso is so log, and thighs too baggy.

Also, thanks for everyone who responded. Sorry for taking a while to get back to you. My excuse was a national election in Australia that distracted me a bit!

So just to respond, all of you who said too much room, how is the smaller size?

Size is better but I agree with DD 15. Could be higher, and you have a waist so you can tuck. I have the same issues as you. Long body, shorter legs. I always feel with wide cropped trousers that I don't have enough lenght in my legs for the pants, a bit of skin and booties.
That didn't keep me from wearing one ha ha.

Yes, I forgot to add that I would only, or mostly wear flats with these. I realise my short legs are problematic.
Adriana I haven't found any extra high rises in this style or at this reasonable cost. I did try super high skinnies. I think this was a bad picture of them !

Maybe a style with an extra high waist and wider legs? More of a culotte. I am short waisted and envy your lovely waist, seems perfect for tucking with the new high rises - just a matter of tweaking proportions I think.
The skinnies look good I just see them as a different thing so not directly comparable.

I much prefer the smaller size on you and think it looks good - you have a great figure and look slim and athletic - so I can't see any stumpy leg effect myself.

However, I do think that a column of colour is always elongating, so if you want to make yourself look more leggy, heels and a column of colour (say a light coloured shirt) with a dark blazer would help. I often wear dark denim in the winter months because it is easy to wear with navy and black knits and a brighter topper.

I really like how you are styling your hair - it looks fab!

Jules, yes I do have some black culottes. They are crepe, with a gathered elastic waist band, so hard to compare with denim.
Bijou, good thinking about the column of colour, but also a bit worrying, because my winter light coloured jumpers are mostly blue and it might clash. Also, it doesn't work without heels then it isn't for me.

I'm not an expert on jeans - especially these *new* mom jeans/highwaisted looks. I just know what works when I see it. With a long torso and shorter legs, I think denim volume on the bottom half is tricky.

I think you can easily get away with a waist worn higher — you’ve got that great slim long torso! I think the second pair fit better but this style will look better on you with a higher waist and a lower contrast top.

I have to say I like these wide crops on your figure (the smaller size). You have a strong shoulder line and they balance with it to my eye.

I like these, and if the price is right.... These will look great with some flat sandals this summer. I always wear flats with my wide crops; not because of foot issues but they just go together to my eye. Along with flat boots when the gap needs to be covered in cooler weather.

Liking the fuller leg style on you, and the smaller size. However, think it is an 8 and I would like you to hold out for a 10. Agree with those who think a higher waist would be most flattering.

Lisa, thanks - so it's the whole issue of volume on the bottom - that's fair. FWIW I think my most flattering jeans look is hands down bootcut - but the volume there is limited to the lower part of the leg

To all saying "hold our for a higher waist" - I'm not sure I can. These are already sold as "high waist" If any Australians know of any higher waist jeans in this style I'm all ears!!

Bennet - the new blue glasses are just my backup if I've misplaced the red ones. The family isn't keen on them so when I found my usual red ones I put them back on.

The first pair looked slightly baggy try a size down, and I think a darker colored top (black perhaps) would go with them better. Being they are looser fit and your tucking in you should wear a wide belt with the jeans to give that boyfriend look, it would be perfect for this outfit and give it the finishing touch
