Ask Angie & All: What do you think of these boots for me?

Hi all, sorry for post and run. It's been a very hectic week! My birthday is coming up, and I'm thinking of buying these boots for some money I'm receiving as a gift.

I'm eyeing a pair of brown boots. They are of a Spanish brand, Sixtyseven, and the quality is quite good for the price. The fit is right for my calves (they hit me right below the knee and follow the shape of my leg quite nicely, but not very tight). Heel height is 2-21/2". I'm after versatile boots that will work with dresses and skirts, maybe also for tucking skinnies. I think these are quite casual, but that's quite all right, because I already have more dressy heeled black boots. However, I can see that a more pointed toe and a narrower fit would look more elegant. Do you think they will work with my style? Are they too casual for the J Crew pencil skirt, for example? Please give me your honest feedback, and feel free to suggest alternatives.

Ingunn, can you please pop a photo of your black dressy boots up again so we can compare? Since you are after a different look, it might be useful to see them side by side.

These look gorgeous, by the way, and if they fit, I'd say...go for it!

I think you will get lots of wear out of these boots. I like the casualness of them and I think they will make a nice juxtaposition with your style.

donnat, I'm glad you think so! I've been thinking that I need something more casual than I normally am drawn to. It suits my lifestyle best, after all.

I really like that these are "in between." They are not super dressy, but they are not super rugged or casual, either. They are "smart casual" I guess!

I think they are perfect and I desperately want something just like them except in taupe or black or ink or grey. And they have to fit me, a tall order, or so it seems. Alas...

They are gorgeous and, like Suz noted, span the gap between super dressy and super casual. And they will bookend your hair beautifully.

I really like these! I enjoy the more casual vibe and more to the point, mixing that vibe with a J Crew pencil skirt is just right to my eye. It's more playful and cuts the business aspect of the pencil, at least to me. There's something about a square heel that's deliciously retro to me, and I actually prefer that boot to one with a pointy toe. Chic and you can still walk in them -- I think they'd be lovely!

Yes, I think they will fit in nicely with your wardrobe. They're just a little lower and chunkier than the black ones and have a slightly different vibe. I say keep!

I vote yay, they look like a gorgeous boot that will work well with dress, skirts and of course jeans.

Thanks ladies! I hope these boots can be a compromise between casual flat boots and dressy heeled ones. I could use both, but if one pair can do more than one trick, it will be easier on my wallet and a better purchase in my opinion.
