I haven't seen the show, but did read through her book quickly. She is very formulaic and she definitely only seems to be able to show people how to dress in one certain way - her way.
I don't get the impression that she's very good at varying suggestions based on body type, lifestyle, and personal style, which may be why she's so successful in the way that she is... she works with young, stick-thin celebrities who have similar shapes and lifestyles (so thin they have few curves, always in front of camera, very socialite) and whose personal styles haven't strongly developed yet.
Maybe that's being a little hard on her, but that's definitely the impression I walked away with. I didn't glean much useful information for real life from her book.
