Several weeks ago I was dithering between leather jackets. I ultimately ordered a cropped one with gold hardware. I love it, but it’s definitely not a wear-with-everything piece.
Question 1)
Then in the post-holiday sales I found a leather blazer similar to the one I’d previously considered, but at a 60 percent markdown. It came yesterday. I’d like opinions on it. It is a bit longer and more oversized than I would typically wear. That seems to be the blazer cut that’s trendy these days, but I’d like to know what you think it looks like for me. Also, is it just too severe? The photo isn’t especially styled. I was wearing the blouse and jeans today, and the fancy boots were the closest to hand.
Question 2) I also got this animal-ish print dress from the same place. It fits quite well except in one place: my rib cage. It looks pretty good in the photo, but super hard to get it zipped. I think the rest of the fit will go too big if I size up. For you sewists, can you tell if there any hope that I can get a tailor to find another half inch just above the smocking?
