Hi Ladies,

I mentioned in an earlier post today that I have been invited to attend a meeting for our Fashion Week with a view to doing some styling and I asked for some advice re what to wear. So thank you so much for your wise advice.

Now I have been asked to style a photo shoot (tomorrow afternoon) for our local paper to promote Fashion Week (its photos to go with an article, not actual advertising), for my girlfriends accessories store.

So, I know I should be focussed on what and how Im going to style the accessories (and I promise I am) but I also want to make sure I dress myself properly for both days.

So #1 is what I think I might wear tomorrow. (It's 9.00 p.m. and this has not been styled) I am also doing my regular tomorrow so this would be for the office as well.

#2 Is what I am thinking of wearing to the meeting on Friday but with the blouse in #3 It is an animal print blouse in a bone and navy. I am sorry no photo of the complete outfit but the lighting in my house in the evening is not good for photos and I couldn't capture the colors or any definition.

Or I could just wear the combination in #2 and add a red bag?

#4 is a shot of the blouse over the brown trousers.

#5 is the pendant I would wear with #1 to bring some color close to my face.

Would really appreciate your thoughts and sorry I forgot to crop #1.

You have some great outfits there! I particularly love #2 and #4! The yellow pumps with them are outstanding!

I also love the animal print. I think you are striking just the right note with these, really. They are true to your style: elegant, simple and sophisticated. Each has a small element of something slightly unexpected and fashion forward, but each shows the strength of building on truly classic pieces. I think your plan sounds terrific. The only thing I wonder is whether the red pendant will be lost in the animal print - maybe you should just stick with the necklace you have on in 4? I think you're going to be gorgeous.

Love both outfits! I also vote to leave the red pendant off -- the colors of the animal print blouse are flattering as is.

Love #1 and #4. I also like Shannon's idea of the animal print top with #2. #2 is lovely as is, but more "businessy" perhaps. The jacket is a wonderful, modern fit.

#1 would probably be easier to "accessorize."

I can see that the necklace in pic5 would pick up on the button detail of your jacket - but l also appreciate the comments from Shannon and Sharon - the pendant might be lost in the print. However, if it is from your GF's accessory store, then a bit more (subtle) promotion is always a good thing!

Whenever I style clients or shoots, I am extra comfy - this is work after all. And I am physical when I work!

I like #1 best because it's less dark, but only if you can move freely in that pencil skirt and heels.

The most important thing in all of this is to wear something that makes your feel confidant.

Deborah, I think it's hard to choose because you have SO many fab outfits. I really like the idea of the ensemble in #2 paired with the animal print blouse - and I hope that you wear that either this time or for another event! But I also adore #2 - the patterned skirt and fashion-forward topper look professional but not restrictive.

I'm with Angie, though - physically, what do you feel more comfortable in?

this is hard choice as I think both outfits look great. I especially like #2!

I'm having a little difficulty picturing #1 with the necklace in #5, maybe because I don't have anything to judge the size of it with. In theory, adding a small splash of red at the throat to balance the shoes could be a very nice touch.

Thank you all so much for your encouragement, it means so much. I missed you all today not be able to get onto the site so I was thrilled to be able to log on tonight to catch up.

I wore #1 today to style the young girls for the newpaper shoot. The skirt is stretchy and the red wedges feel like flats so I was very comfortable and able to move freely. I added a fitted jacket as it was very cold. It was SO much fun and they looked good. All were under 20 years of age and such gorgeous girls, not models but friends of my friend's daughter:)

I also met the woman heading up the committee for Fashion Week and she welcomed me so warmly. It was good to touch base today and I have a good idea now of what to expect at the meeting tomorrow. I am feeling much more relaxed about putting an outfit together for the meeting and may reconsider and do jeans, boots, blouse and jacket.

Again I cannot thank you enough. Your have really given me the confidence to step out and have a go at something I love. And Angie, if you read this, you are one inspiring mentor, not to mention an incredibly gifted, creative and stylish woman.

You look amazing and what an exciting new adventure!

Deborah, this is so exciting! I didn't get a chance to comment on your other post, but how very, very fun for you!! Love #1 and glad you wore it - sounds like it was the perfect choice. Those red shoes are so fab! Can't wait to see what you are planning for Friday's meeting. In any case, you have such an amazing sense of style and will look perfectly put together in whatever you choose - you always do!
