What do you all think of this Vince dress?

I'm guessing Deborah will like it. :). Is it too basic or does the cut add interest? Like a drop waist this shape tends to work for me if the length is right...

I think it could be a great dress for you Una. If the fabric is good and heavy and the cut is spot on for you, it'll be bold in its simplicity (plus an extra bit of twist interest).

Well as a fellow shortie, in my experience regular length dresses are going to be likely to fit you more often than not these days

Such a cool dress Una. You need to try it on I think. Sizing up or down could alter the look. If it were me, I would size up on this particular style to lower and open up the neckline, higher necklines can look unflattering on my short waist/short neck and relatively fuller bust.

I might worry a little about clinginess potential in the rear, but that's probably way less of an issue for you than for the likes of me.

Love this style for you Una - it looks short on the model but that will be different for you. I like Denise's idea of sizing up for great drape and a bit more length although trying it on will be the deciding factor.

I also like the links Deborah provided - in fact, I'm lusting after that Metallicus dress myself...

Oh Angie, I know all about that clingy-bottom thing. Fortunately, Una, you have the necessary booty containment to make this dress work. It's gorgeous. My only caveat: Walk around in it awhile to make sure it doesn't "walk up" as you do! How nice to know you'll be able to get the length you want -- so hard these days!

Love this, Una. I think this will totally work on you as long as the neckline isn't too high. Draping is problematic for me when it hits around my middle where I like to have more of an illusion of a waist. I think this one with the lower draping will help balance out the top. Give it a bash!

Ooh, I'm glad you shared this. The drapiness around the hips looks great for balancing IT shoulders, and the neckline looks like it sags a bit, and would work okay with shorter necks.

I am almost always an XS in Vince sweaters and drapey shirts. I tried this on in an XS, hoping it would work for a memorial service, but it was too big in the hips and so small in the shoulders, I thought I was going to damage the dress trying to extricate myself from it. But this one is draper all around.

i like it alot. also the allsaints dress. i have a similar dress from ronen chen, and i like the way the bubble bottom makes the waist float away from the body, but without adding bulk

Wow, I'm glad you all see this as a good choice for ITs! I love the Allsaints dress but have concerns about the sleeves - I look much better with inset straps on sleeveless items. Also don't need more black in my wardrobe although I always want it!

I may have to be a guinea pig on this one!
