What do we think of "modal" fabric for a scarf?

I am lusting after a scarf from Nordstrom made out of "modal". I think this is a fairly thin fabric that wrinkles a lot.

Anybody have one and able to tell me how it holds up?

YAY= buy it, it's from Nordstrom and they will take it back if you're not satisfied
NAY=don't waste your time and energy, this fabric is a loser

I've had some modal pieces that I really liked -- soft and lightweight. I don't remember them wrinkling that much. I have some scarves that get wrinkly, but I usually just go with it and embrace the "crinkle" factor -- that or spray them lightly with water or Febreze and hang them for a few minutes before wearing, so the wrinkles fall out.

I generally think very positively about modal - it will have great drape as a scarf.
Plus, Yay, it's from Nordstrom, so it's worth trying.

I can't imagine a modal scarf having much body or oomph when wearing it. I think it's fine if you're okay with the look. No harm in trying it with Nordie's free shipping and returns!

I've had on a 100% modal scarf today. Anne's right it doesn't have much oomph. Mine had a light crinkle manufactured into it and it does wrinkle more when I wear it but to me that's part of this particular scarf so doesn't bother me x

I've bought lots of garments that were modal, but no scarves. Anymore, I try to avoid buying modal garments. They pill and look shabby quickly if you wash them, even if you hand wash and dry flat. However, it may work well for a rarely washed item like a scarf. I'd probably buy it, as you said, because it is Nordstrom and they will take it back if you are dissatisfied with it.

I love modal. I look for it in loungewear, tees, and even my undies! It is light and drapey, not wrinkly. But, yeah, I think it would make for a kind of limp scarf.

Thanks for your wisdom, I think I might pass on the scarf as I usually like a lightweight wool scarf because it does not wrinkle...which doesn't bother me in a scarf worn in the spring or summer, but generally in the colder months I like more warmth and body from a scarf.
