So...I can have stuff delivered to my friends' place in New Haven. What pieces should I order to try out?

Already on my list: Those Kut from the Kloth white skinnies Angie linked to yesterday. Yes, even though I am a white jeans "who ever has occasion to wear them?" kind of girl, I am pulling the trigger on that one! Never say never, and this spring looks to be the longest one we'll ever have, so I might actually find a few weeks to wear these babies.

I WOULD order a seamed pencil skirt (or two) but sadly, the offerings in petite are pathetic right now. They have a cotton stretch pencil skirt but I can't tell about the fit on that one. Anyone have experience?

You should try one of the petite pencil skirts anyway just so that you figure out your size for future purchases. Def get some of the bp cami's, bp cardi's if you are into cardi's, the frenchi jackets fit amazing on petites if you need a cute, cheap, nicely made structured jacket. Also, nude microfishnets and those shimera seamless panties

Thanks, Rita! PERFECT advice. That is a really good point about the pencil skirt. I can always send it back if I don't like the colour or fit anyway, and then at least I would know.

I was planning on a few BP camis, too and will check out those Frenchi jackets. And microfishnets and seamless panties are also on the list! Yay!

Have fun with your US shopping! I just got a pair of the fishnets that I bought off of ebay and I would definitely recommend them. I can't wait to see what you find!

I tried the Halogen cotton pencil skirt in white, but mistakenly ordered a size too small. I went with my usual size (4) for regular Halogen skirts but it was too tight all over. However, you could clearly see the pocket lining through the fabric, so I am not going to bother sizing up. But you might be interested in some of the colored options...

Strangely, the denim skirt fits fine in a 4!

I am with Rita on Frenchi jackets, even though I am not petite, I am eyeing one right now (I have two already). Just make sure to take into account that the sizing on that brand is for juniors so you may need to size up. I would definitely try the pencil skirt.

I was just in the Loft a couple of days ago and did not see too many "must haves" but I would stop by the store and see what you find. If you are in New Haven, there is an Ann Taylor store and a Loft store right in the center of the city, and they should have petite departments

I would not completely dismiss the regular size Halogen seamed pencil skirt. You are petite but have long limbs. You might find the added length attractive.

In case of returns/ exchanges for AT/ ATL, the ATL Flagship store is on 42nd street right by Times square and I happen to like the AT by St. Patrick's Cathedral on 5th Ave. That is a very good shopping area in general: The Banana Republic flaship store is right by AT, there is a really well stocked H&M and Antropologie also. These are all by the Rochefeller Center area! Including the Met Gift Shop!

... and don't forget to check the Rack on 14th Street / Bryant Park.

Oh...thanks, Zapotee! I know that stretch of 5th Ave and shopped there last time; got some GREAT deals at the BR store when I was there. And then shopped for gifts at the Met gift store!
