What didn't work on me: Angie's fluffy sweater

I don't know what possessed me to think it would, except that Angie sold me with her Vegas look. I tried the Topshop fluffy sweater in chartreuse. First off, it's super-cropped - it barely covered my belly button, and I'm 5'1"! Plus for a busty IT, I looked like the chartreuse version of the Incredible Hulk. Not good.

Sigh. I should add shopping for fitted tops to my hate list, except I don't even try that anymore.

I'm sorry it didn't work out, Una. Was it too fitted? Perhaps you needed to go up a size. Not sure. I did mention that it was pretty cropped, and the high neckline does accentuate a shorter neck and larger bust. Glad you returned it. Onto the next great sweater.

Aw, I understand! Even though we have opposite issues, I totally get your pain.

Although, if it's any consolation, I doubt that sweater would work on me either -- I don't think it is particularly friendly to the busty. I looked at the mint version and quickly decided it was better to walk away.

Angie, I tried two sizes and the fit was about the same. It's my shoulders for sure. I was fairly warned! You made it look so dang appealing...

I'm laughing over the Hulk image! But I would look like that too, I know.

And I've done this before. I once bought a lipstick because it looked great on someone else...a tan, blue-eyed blonde. Not so much on super pale, green-eyed, dark haired me. Lesson learned!

I'm loving this furry hulk imagery.

I generally avoid fuzzy clothes but I bought one pink muppet-y sweater for Burning Man (it was much less refined than Angie's polished version). This year I cut it up to turn into a Halloween costume (a Lyft mustache, if any of you happen to recognize the Lyft car-sharing service) and I am STILL finding bits of pink fun fur everywhere. I can just picture myself going to some formal gala (as if that ever happens in my life) and discovering pink fuzz on my gown. It is EVERYWHERE.

Yeah, Una - it sucks, but you can wear the cutaway styles and no-collar jackets for me, okay? I will wear the high necks for you. But not in chartreuse.

This Nordstrom sweater looks similar but with a slightly lower neckline and it appears longer. I haven't seen it IRL, however.

Oh my! Well on to more fab things. Whenever I see something fab on Angie I want to rush out and buy it, but then I have to remind myself that we have two very different body types and most things just won't work well on both body types.

I too am a bit on the busty side. There are a lot of high neck and round neck tops atm. Just yesterday, after trying on yet another, I decided to stop. They just don't seem to work on me at all....

Hi again. If you really want a fuzzy sweater you could try my purple big bird sweater. I'm not sure it is the single most flattering thing I own but it is really decent...got a lot of board approval at least. I am an IT with some ooo-la-la going on too so if I can wear it I would think you could. Hey, then we would have two of the same sweaters! I wore Joie joy today.

Here it is. I love it and I bet you would too. I don't think it is as overwhelming as it is on the model.

Very soft and drapey. This is size small. I would have wanted to try XS if it came in that, but S was the smallest. Since we both have the XS Joie, I would think the S in this would fit you like it looks on me in the picture.

And, it should come with a hug warning. People want to hug me when I wear it. Most people just rub my arms though, but DH always hugs.

Oh, strange, it does come in XS. I thought it didn't. Hmmm, maybe they added it. But I'm fine with the S.
