What colors would go with this skirt?

I just bought this skirt at a fundraiser for my son's school - it's from some company along the lines of CAbi called Lularoe. Anyway, I loved the cut and pattern, but I'm at a complete loss for shoes and tops to wear with red and blue! Suggestions? Cognac seems like an obvious footwear color but I don't own any brown shoes or boots.

It's jersey? Being crazy, I'd wear a light blue tee and sneakers or clogs. Or citron.... Or browns, yes...Basically, avoid white, black and grey tops...

Given that I have an affinity for crazy pants, I get stumped by these things often as well;-). For some strange reason, I find it easier to come up with color combos if I think of the item as a top instead. ie, If I had this as a blue and red top, I would certainly wear it with white, blue denim, navy, black or stone bottoms. In theory, all those colors would work as tops for the skirt. For shoes, bag, I think it depends what other color you bring to the party. If it's white, navy, stone or denim, cognac accessories could be great. With a white top, white sandals might be cute. Or maybe something close to the blue and red in the skirt? With a black top, black sandals would work well, I think.

Gray is good. Warm grays will pick up the red, cool grays will pick up the blue. I also like Carter's idea of stone and white. Blue denim is awesome, and navy tops. With such a bold print, a small print/patterned top might work, to tie in other colors. Like a navy top with white stripes, or a fine white check. There are a lot of possibilities, but I know what you mean about it not being obvious!

Carter, thinking of bottoms as tops is a brilliant strategy. I wonder if I cand find a denim tee as denim button downs have not worked for me. Thanks for the suggestions so far - so helpful!

No help on tops but I have both red and blue sandals I would wear with this type of skirt. They don't have to be exact matches but are sort of like bookends. I probably would look for a blue top that would compliment. (or is it complement? I get those confused. I think it is complement.)

Carters method is brilliant. All I could think of was white but when I think of it as a shirt instead it does open up possibilities.

A very pale blue or pale pink -- a la this year's Pantone. Greys for sure, denim, chambray, ivory. Lilac?? I'd probably even try citron or a bold midtone green with a similar level of saturation, even though wearing red, blue, and green together always make me feel like I'm made of Legos or something.

I like Rachy's idea of light blue something on the feet, or clogs, and a white t. This looks like a jersey pull-on , right?

That's a statement skirt. If it were mine, I'd wear it with a black top, and that's probably it. Maybe heather grey. Mind you, you know I have a low tolerance for too many colours at once.

ETA that skirt is Spiderman meets the CBC logo!

Well, I love the Spiderman association! I thought it was a bit Scandinavian/Merrimeko. I don't wear much light blue but perhaps grey or a navy tee would work. It's very comfy and swingy and looks really nice on. It's the shoes that are stumping me!

Fun skirt! I think you could wear black, white, bright yellow, citron or even a bright tangerine with this skirt. The pairing of the red and blue with bright colors is a bold statement, but you see examples of this in modern art pieces. For a softer statement, I think you could pair with neutrals like ink or charcoal gray.

I meant Spiderman in a good way, Una (I realize upon re-reading that it sounds like I was making fun of your skirt!). I too see the Merrimeko connection.

I'd wear it with a fitted black top, bare legs, and black footwear.

It's a little shorter than midi - knee length? Lisa, it's exactly the kind of fun item you are talking about in your post, and of course I have no idea what to do with it. But it will be a good spring/summer item if I can figure it out!

I would wear this skirt with
- white tee and white sneakers
- grey tee and white sneakers
- navy tee and cognac shoes
- chambray shirt and coloured shoes
- black top and black shoes (maybe)

I would not wear pink or orange with it, nor greens, I do think the right yellow/mustard could be spectacular.

Cork wedges in natural for summer and a simple white tee, or a faded light blue denim shirt/jacket. Dark blue denim shirt and boots for winter:-). Red is obvious.

Fun "change it up" skirt. YLF is brilliant- love Carter's view it as a top strategy. I think a denim tee could be great; something with a bit of structure to keep the silhouette current. Also like gray with it or for a primary color fest, bright clear yellow. I'd keep it casual with white sneakers or sandals in blue, gray, matte metallic or nude tones.

Carters strategy is brilliant. Love the skirt and I can certainly picture it with a cool denim wash type t shirt.

In addition to the suggestions you have, it might be fun to wear the skirt with a graphic tee or stripes or another print. In fact, I like it with your bed spread. Maybe a charcoal topper or belt ( inspired by kitty).
