What colors with black dress/camel boots?

Now that the temps are cooling a bit (and especially because I want to take this dress to Seattle to wear over the Christmas holiday) I've been wondering what to pair it with to make it warmer.
Ana suggested camel colored slouchy boots (which I can't believe how fab THAT sounds!), so I'm wondering what color cardigan and tights I'd pair with it?
Or if I did wear black boots, what color tights and cardigan?

I don't know, the shoes you have on are killer already.
Boots and a cardigan will be nice too I'm sure. Angie did say that the cognac color goes well with black.

Thanks, san! I love those red shoes too. I just think my poor legs and arms would freeze if I wore it like this in WA over Christmas. And I love the dress too much to leave her home.

It is getting quite cold here lately. There has been frost on the grass in the morning. My husband just called me and said he was standing outside without a coat on and got very cold so went and got his coat and got in his car and turned the heater way up and was still chilled to the bone. So that's where we're at up here in the PNW, and still have a month to go before you come up for Christmas, so I think you are wise to dress in the boots and cardigan.

I suggest a denim jacket and black tights. Then you can funk it up a little more with a cool necklace or scarf.

I LOVE the idea of a denim jacket and boots with that dress, to funk it up a little.

But if you don't want to go in that direction, I think black tights and boots would be fab and keep you warm. What are your boot options? (I've read that brown boots with a black dress is a good look - I'm not sure I would know how to do it but I think you could definitely make that work! I loved that brown jacket and scarf you wore in your photo shoot - very stylish!)

I only have black and dark brown boots right now, tarzy, but I really want to get a camel colored pair. To me, the black tights and black boots is really flat looking, so I wanted to try something a tad bit more funky.

What about the mini fishnet hose that Angie says add texture. I like the sound of that with an all black dress and boots.

These are the colors that come to mind when I think of your black dress with camel boots:

poppy orange
dusty grassy green
burgundy
silvery grey

For the tights, I'm thinking browns that are darker than the boots, but not as dark as chocolate. Or any patterned tight in the same color as the cardi, but in a shade lighter or darker.

If you were going to do black slouchy boots, I think that purple tights might look really cool with it. If you were going to do camel boots, I think I would stick with either a black opaque tight or something patterned (in black).

I love the dress and I think it looks great on you.
