What colors do you wear with olive?

Olive seems to be around a lot. I see it in postings here and wear it myself. Always wondering what colors to put with it, which depend somewhat on whether your olive is warm or cool. For example I tend to think of black, light blue, light grey, lavender (thanks to a recent Angie client posting) and white. And denim. For shoes & bags I think of black, white, grey, silver, gold, bronze. It's very versatile.

It's always been a favorite color, just sometimes it's hard to find. I used to wear all of the Autumn colors with it, especially plum, dark red, chestnut, and mustard. I don't wear those colors as much, but I wear a lot of grey and most shades of blue with olive. Turquoise also looks good. For handbags, cognac is especially good.

I treat olive as a neutral and pair a whole host of colors with it… black, white, gray, red, blue (esp. cobalt), coral, yellow, mustard, citron, rust, orange, chambray, burgundy/merlot, magenta, fuchsia, ink/navy, plum, teal, turquoise. I am having a hard time thinking of a color that I would not pair with olive -- perhaps emerald green would be a shade that I would not think to combine with olive.

I wear olive with pink, lavender, white, and yellow. It looks spectacular with pink.

I love a cool tone olive! I wear it with any pastel (lavender, pink, light blue, yellow, celery green), red, intense peacock teal, cobalt, purple, just about any color. The one thing I don't wear it with is neutrals! To my eye, on me, neutrals with olive are too dulling. More color suits my coloring better.

Over time I have been a big fan of olive. I don't have much now, but I have treated it like a neutral. It goes with pretty much everything. I like it with reddish purples and orchid, light yellow, coral, and periwinkle.

i just bought an olive utility type vest

i wore it with white and blue striped tee, blue scarf, jeans and khaki tennis shoes.

I never really thought about why I like olive sometimes but not others, but your post made me realize I love cool toned olive. It goes with the purples and cool greys of my wardrobe. Warm olive always ends up an orphan for me!

For cool olive: Pink and navy come immediately to mind. Soft white and purple, too.

In summer: with hot pink, turquoise, lilac, orange, white and any paisley print using the same colours (I have a think for a boho paisley print - lol)

Fall/spring: navy,orange,black/leopard print

I swear army/olive green is the single most versatile colour I own.

Olive is a new color for me, thanks to YLF. So far I've worn my olive utility jacket with white, black, and cobalt blue. I'm planning to try it with pale pink and purple. For my coloring, I find that a deep, cool olive works best.

I have olive ankle pants, army style jacket, boxy faux leather jacket, and a fine merino sweater. It's a very versatile colour, and suits my colouring.

I wore my olive pants today with a navy top and a faded denim jacket. The other day I wore them with a Breton top and the same denim jacket.

Wow. I guess it works with every color in the rainbow! Thanks for all the great idea.

K. Period. I have been feeling the same way that neutrals (like tan) are a bit dull with olive....but hadn't quite articulated it so thanks for that. I guess if you are going for khaki green/tan utility/cargo look it could even work with tan.

I think of olive as a neutral and can't think of s color I would not wear with it, except maybe beige...too boring.

I had on white jeans and an orchid/white checked shirt the other day. It looked too "sweet" to me until I realized my olive jacket could toughen it right up.

I think it is a versatile colour too. I have a jacket in a warm olive, and a parka in a dull olive and black (Which I would like to pass on but it is useful).

I agree - not beiges/camels/browns, and not other greens. Aside from that I think most other colours can work. I do like olive with tan leather though.

Olive always suggests pink and red to me right away, but I like to wear it with white.

Great suggestions - I think nearly any saturated color (except tans and probably most other greens) work really well with olive. It is really a great neutral. I love it especially with bright ruby red, white, vivid blues, and navy. I wore my deep olive field jacket most of the winter/early spring with nearly every outfit.
