what color wrap for my very fair mother?

I wanted to get the tissue weight scarf from the YLF store but the link came up empty. I did find a larger wrap at the same price, though. In 41 colors!! My mom claims to like off white/cream and black but with her coloring I think it's the wrong choice. This is an older photo (she'd die to know it's on here) from a funeral and so she's stressed and ashen but it's the only pic I have on my drive. She normally has a more ruddy complexion and shorter curly whiteish blond hair with green eyes. What color scarf would be best? Thanks! http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/28.....ltback=261

Mo, how about a rosy or berry shade--or maybe something like aqua or another shade of blue or green that you know she likes and wears? The tapestry teal or sea green might be good!

Thanks, Velma. She tends toward pastels - sigh. She did have a deep forest green leather coat she really liked a few years back. Maybe the blue/green tones are ones I should look at. I don't think the berry would be to her liking.
Can more saturated, vibrant colors coordinate with paler pastel versions? Or will I have to get her on WNTW to get a wardrobe to match the wrap lol?!

She sounds like she has the right complexion for pastels. Maybe the sea green would be a good compromise?

Oh, I'm so torn. I have until midnight to get it ordered in time for xmas. I want it to be pretty on her but also neutral enough to go with most things. She doesn't have a scarf wardrobe llike many of you do, so this is probably going to be her only one.

I think she would be striking in the teal. Would she not agree?
If she is set on pastels, the Kahlo (sp?) pink looks like it would compliment her hair and complexion as well... notice how striking it is on the model with her grey suit and blonde hair.

Ballet pink is a good option for her. It's a pastel but it works as a neutral too.

Oh, QM, that was another color I was eyeing I think she would personally like the pink more. The teal may be a better fashion/color choice but when it comes down to it, she likes what she likes, you know? It's not too little girly?

ETA: I noticed they put the ballet pink on their very fairest model . . . hmmm.

I think I'd like best the "Cactus Flower Pink" (far from pastels, but I think it would look flattering on your mom from what I can tell from the picture), and my second choice for her would be "Cinder" (neutral but not black lol, would definitely go with any other items in her wardrobe, and imho is a beautiful shade, and now I actually want one to wear as a wrap around the house. Sigh)
Not really digging the pastel choices, but it's better to get something you know she will love and actually wear

Any of the pinks would be nice, but ballet pink looks superb on icy blondes, I wore it a lot when my hair was platinum.

I like the pastel pink or soft grey as a neutral. I could see the tropic green as a good choice as well to go with her eyes.

Mo, I noticed the very fair model for the ballet pink, as well. I'm sure that color would be pretty on your mom, especially if it is in her comfort zone. You want her to wear this and love it!

Thanks for all the input. I went with the ballet pink in the end. As much as I may have thought I could try a bright teal or green, I think it would be too overwhelming for her and it just wouldn't get worn. I think the ballet pink will be light enough to almost be neutral as Leah mentioned and it certainly goes with the soft, airy feel of this item. Hope she loves it!

Ballet pink will look good on her, too, and it will please her. I have it in ballet pink and I love the color - it does go with everything! And, if she likes black and white it will soften these colors against her face. I think you made a good choice!

Jenava, thanks for chiming in. It's always good to hear positive things from someone who actually owns the item you're interested in. My mom recently moved to Tahoe and I thought it would be both stylish and practical for her in the winter weather. She's lived in L.A. her whole life and recently the Bay Area so she doesn't have a winter wardrobe to speak of!

Ooh, Barbara, good thought about the size - she's 5' 10". Me being almost a petite, it would never occur to me that a scarf or wrap could possibly be too small on someone tall like her!

I know it's too late, but I wanted to chime in and agree that the ballet pink was a great choice. Your mom is so fair that pastels should look quite nice on her. Just look at someone here on YLF like Julie, who has nice blonde hair, a fair complexion and light eyes, and looks fantastic in pastels. Great choice!
