What Color Shorts Should I Buy?

Express has some great crochet shorts they came out with and I want to buy only one pair. Here's an example of the shorts in the "berry" color and if you scroll down there are pics of the shorts in cobalt blue, black, white, navy, and a dark orange:

I am confused as to which color I should buy and which would look good on me. I'm really tall and have a light tan, olive skin color. I also want a pair in which the crochet and detail clearly stands out from afar and could match with most shirts. So, out of the six colors (white, black, navy, dark orange, berry, cobalt blue) which pair should I buy? I would really appreciate your input. Thanks!

Those shorts do look fun and summery. Have you thought through the tops you have in your wardrobe to see which shorts they might pair with? If you want a neutral, on the theory that it might be easier to match with a wide variety of tops, do tend to wear more black, white, or navy, for example? It's hard for me to tell from the online pictures if the crochet detail shows up better on certain colors. Of the neutral shades, I think I may prefer the indigo personally. It seems like navy is always in fashion in spring and summer, with nautical colors and it is neutral but maybe a bit less expected than black. For me the white lace reminds me of bridal fashion and lingerie but that could just be me. If you love black pants/skirts/bottoms in general then maybe black is the one for you?

Very fun shorts. I think the detail might not stand out on the black or navy shorts and Lenni has a good point about white reading as lingerie. the berry is very pretty. Would it work with your skin tone and tops?

its hard to advice without knowing what colors are in the rest of your summer wardrobe. which color works best with your summer tops and shoes? i'd get the navy or black because they work best with my tees and shoes.

You've got a lot of good advice here. I think the detail is sort of lost on the darker colors and the white is kind of doily like. Depending on what your pairing options are I'd pick berry, then cobalt or orange.

I think the lace detail stands out best on the white and orange shorts. But -- I don't think this should be your deciding factor, as the other colors look nice too and you can still see the lace, maybe just not as clearly from afar. The effect is more subtle KWIM? So -- I'd go for the color that makes you happiest, followed by the color that goes with more things in your closet.

I really like berry, but from your description of your skin tone, orange might work better. All depends on what tops and shoes you plan to wear them with!

Most of the tops in my wardrobe are pretty colorful. I don't have that many neutrals. If I do buy the berry (which I am heavily leaning towards) what color tops would go with it? Would I have to buy neutral-colored tops or would my light-colored tops match with the berry?
