What are your thoughts on this coat?

Every time I go to the Neiman Marcus Last Call site, I look at this coat: http://www.lastcall.com/p/Dian.....253Dlennon

I love it, but have never owned a coat/jacket in a print. What do you think? The print is very small, but I'm only 5'2" -- do you think it would overwhelm?

I know the only way to figure it out is to try it on, but thought I would ask for your input first.

(Trying not to be overly swayed by its luxe details. Silk lining...SILK LINING!)

I think the print size will compliment your petite frame and the colors will be very versatile. I can see this with skirts, pants, jeans, even over a nice black dress. I hope you try it on at least!

I very seriously doubt that print would overwhelm you. I'm also 5 ft. 2 in. tall and can tell you I'd try on that coat in a heartbeat. Like missvee said, I can see it working with many things. Do try it on. That's the only way you'll know for sure.

Well, I am still kicking myself for not picking up a blue and purple mod paisley-ish print trench over 4 years ago! I had debated if it was 'too much' and now I regret not grabbing it. You can find black and beige trenches 'til the cows come home. A great print, not so much. Go for it!

This is definitely worth trying out, if you're able to purchase and return if it doesn't work. It's a gorgeous coat and the I think the print is a small enough scale that it will work.

Is this returnable? If so, there is no hurt in trying.
I'm quite puzzled as to how i that you put it on. I can't make the buttons or zipper.

Zap -- there is a hidden snap placket. I like that because with the pattern, buttons or a zipper would add to the busy-ness.

Sounds unanimous that I should try this coat.

ETA: On its way to me now, so we shall see...

I think it's a really great coat. I love everything about it and think it would look very chic on you. I think you should definitely try it on. Nice sale price, too.

I think it's great, and the print seems like it would be a terrific scale for a petite. I've seen some patterned trenches, but a lot of them have really bold patterns, which can make them more challenging to wear. I say go for it!

I think it's bold and fun, you can only tell if it works on you by trying it on, though.

i think the print is too small...it's a bit seizure-inducing at the current print size and repetition pattern.

that said, i would buy it because i would be swayed by the luxe details...mmm...silk lining *impression of homer drooling*

So the coat arrived yesterday and unfortunately it's GIGANTIC in every way. It's a 2 but really it's more of a 6 -- which explains why there were still small sizes available.

Back it goes. Wait 'til you see how this affects the interesting math I've been doing to work that Talbot's coat into my budget...
