Since I am retired I do not have to worry about pants for work, but I do have several occasions to wear something more dressy than jeans. I purged my charcoal wider straight leg pants, kept one pair of black narrow straight leg ponte ankle pants, and shortened my tan ankle length to a couple of inches above my ankle (per Angie suggestion). Also have a pair of grey crops that fit well. Just discovered that Angie was right about shortening the ankle pants to crop length. So for the fall/winter season I am finding the crops a perfect solution. They work well with flats, heels, my 2 inch block heel shoes, and best of all they are perfect with the higher shaft booties. The trick here is to have all the high shaft booties almost the same height. Ankle pants are fine for almost all kinds of shoes and tall boots, but do not work for any of my other footwear.
I am looking for narrower leg culottes, but not finding them yet. Not sure if I will like them being any shorter than the crops that I have. IS what I am looking for really crop flares? I am petite height, but have longer legs, so almost never buy petite pants.
I guess another question here is do you like skin between pants and booties, how much, or none?
