What are you wearing a lot of this season?

The thread about striped dresses got me thinking about what I am gravitating towards this season and I see three front-runners in my wardrobe:

1. Dresses - Love the ease of the dress for summer and have purchased quite a few. I am gravitating towards fairly simple cuts that are streamlined and ladylike.
2. Silk shirts - I hopped on this bandwagon and am not sorry. I loved my Joie silk shirt and bought three more at JJill. They are flexible as they can be tucked or worn loose, come in a multitude of colors and shades, and are machine washable (at least the ones I have are).
3. Stripes - I posted about the number of striped dresses but also have purchased a few BB striped shirts, the coral and navy striped top, and the seersucker suit. I like stripes and polka dots possible because most of them are a neutral and one (a few with two) colors.

So what are you loving this season? What are you buying or wanted more than anything else? What have you realized is dominating your closet in a good way?

Im usually buried under a blanket cuz our friggin' A/C is blasting, but when I do venture out Im loving simple dresses more and more. Wear skirts a fair amount in the summer, but Im hunting for more dresses than ever! Oh yeah, and am usually wearing/carrying a cardi if I go shopping at the grocery store, cuz it's a iceberg as well

Funny you should ask, Dianthus! I just popped a load of laundry in and was curious to see the types of tops all together. I'm wearing skirts and short or long sleeves button front shirts the most (not sleeveless). This is really new for me. I am also gravitating to dark on top and white on the bottom. I'm not wearing my one summer dress very often, maybe because it's sleeveless.

I am wearing:

1. Woven tops (either long sleeved rolled up or sleeveless), mostly button front.

2. Bermuda length shorts. This makes sense for my work-at-home life, but I think it is also a function of the fact that I don't have enough cool, wide cut (vs. pencil style) skirts. I love the look of a pencil but it isn't as practical for the days I'm curled up on my bed typing or sitting in my saddle chair.

Dresses - like you, I find them so easy and comfortable
Silk - have hopped on the silk blouse bandwagon with you!
Pattern - particularly in love with floral. I now have my floral dress, a newly thrifted floral blazer and floral flats
White bottoms - I have both white jeans (as you know!) and white clams and love them both

Dresses like you(my all time favs), and white on bottoms with brighter colours(new to me) or blacks on top half. Wedges.Clutch bags for daywear and casuals, too(also new to me).

Woven tops of all kind: blouses (particularly silk ones and sleeveless ones or both) and button downs.

Midi-dresses and stripes and blues - mostly navy and cobalt. I love the comfort and ease factor of a slightly longer skirt or dress (I can move and chase kids without being inappropriate!) and I have far too many striped dresses and tops now. I really need to stop it with those. And I have always tended to wear more black than blue, even in the summer, but that has changed. I am wearing more navy and cobalt and I just bought a cobalt bag, too!

Dresses (with no waistband when it's hot!), orange/coral, flowy blouse/tunics, navy blue.

I'm getting a lot of use out of my recently acquired seersucker blazer. That was a smart buy! I'm also using a blue leather handbag I acquired from my DD after my handbag started tearing up.

Button-downs, slightly oversized and slouchy silk shirts. Love them and I keep wanting to buy more.
I also wish I could say dresses. I'd been hoping to find a few fab midi dresses with sleeves, but no luck so far.

Woven, lightweight, often floaty tops, with shorts or skinnies. A total 180 from my uniform of two summers ago, which was lots of knit tees and bootcut jeans.

I have a feeling they're going to get even more wear, since the temps here are going into the high 90s this week.

Also still feeling the love I gained last year for lightweight sleeveless dresses, sometimes funked up a bit with one of my vests.
