Fun reading everyone, and thanks for starting the post.

My list is maroon and (hey Rachy) pine green also...

So I am looking for a PPP wine or burgundy jacket. I evaluated a suede one recently but it was not PPP. I'll wait.

Then a silk/silky pine green top to wear under black jackets and give me my color fix I crave.

And black boots and booties that are a bit more trendy. Mine all have the rounded toe and I really want something more angular.

Finally, a pair of grey trousers, men's cut, and if they are reasonable, duplicate in black.

I also have a few accessories in mind to be up to speed on what ever is the trend that appears. I like necklaces over scarves and earrings and I think my big bib type necklaces will be getting supplemented with some more delicate long ones with an interesting pendant. I love the j crew gold tassels for example.

If I come over the perfect leather skirt, it will also come home. I am looking for Aline and nearly/fully knee length.

While waiting, I am going to try making a waistcoat from some gold fabric I have, and a red summer dress, just to see if I can do it!

I have no flippin' idea, can that be my answer? All my fall stuff (that's not multi-season like jeans) is in my old size and I haven't even started going through it, as keeping up with culling and replacing my current season stuff has kept me plenty busy (and poor). I kept some things like cords and winter skirts that were too small last year, so hopefully they will still fit. Basically whenever it starts getting cooler I'll have to pull the out of season stuff out, try it all on, and see what holes I have. (And then weep because I won't be able to afford filling them all.)

I have really needed a new pair of black boots and ordered the Born ones from NAS - still haven't worn them out of the house because I'm still not 100% convinced they're perfect for me. If I do end up returning them that'll be one hole I still need to fill.

As far as style goes, I have been feeling the urge to go in a more rock chick direction, a little edgier and not so classic. I'd like to get a well-fitting graphic tee or two for weekend wear in that vein.

I bought the leather Halogen dress from NAS (photo 1) and it fits me like a dream. It will definitely make me less sad to see summer end. The back of the bodice is stretch ponte, everything else is leather. I want to get a lot of wear out of it, so knowing my short fashion attention span, I want to get a couple more toppers to wear with it so it's not the same look all of the time. #2 did not work out, it didn't come in petite sizing the the length was just weird on me. It is a fabulous jacket, beautifully made and pretty colors (Classiques Entier Adona Tweed Jacket) if anyone of non petite stature is interested, I highly recommend. I'm waiting for #3 and #4 and hoping one or both of them work. I'm thinking another way to wear would be to layer a silk blouse under the dress, like my Ann Taylor blue/cream/taupe leopard print. I also got the bootie in #5. I'm hoping this satisfies my fall "need" for some refreshers.

Hi Isabel! I know your YLF account is temporarily disabled due to being hacked (my condolences, I know a mean word would never, ever come out of your mouth). So we will wait patiently until you can comment again.

Well, I might as well use your thread to out myself. I just ordered two things from the NAS online. Am I crazy? No, I'm tired of being cooped up in the house, I can't drive as far as Nordstrom, shop and then make it back and last but not least, all you fab ladies are rubbing off on me. My local shopping options no longer excite me. So in addition to the BB trench I bought last month I ordered a pair of AG cigarette leg jeans and some two-tone Enzo tall boots, Ellerby, I think? Hubs is actually glad because this is how he knows I'm feeling better. What a man! I can't wait to see you in those funky harem-y pants.

I'm going to post first, then read replies.
Honestly, I wasn't thinking fall. It's been unusually warm here and I'm in the heart of summer dressing.
But then I saw the Spiegel jacket last night at a steal and jumped. So I guess a leather jacket is what I want for fall! lol
Aside from that, I am going back to FL, so fall is really just extended summer.
Now to read upthread . . .

I'm in pretty good shape for f/w. I'd love a colored wool winter coat (so sick of black), a colored casual coat ,and a pair of wedge booties for work. None of those are needs, though. I have to start paying preschool tuition this year, so I may need to do a lot of thrifting if I want to add anything to my wardrobe.

Oh, and how could I forget? I must replace my beloved black winter bag.

I had some type of tweed jacket on my list, so I bought:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/be.....n=wishlist and
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ha.....n=wishlist
Will have to do a K/R on them.

A wide black and white belt has been on my list for quite awhile, but I need XS so I'm on the Zappos waitlist for the one Angie recommended but who know if it will ever show up.

Animal print shoes (since last year). Cheetah Danskos identified; will order when the weather grows cooler.

Straight cut blue jeans. Baby bootcuts on sale at the Rack for under $25, so close enough (and better to hide the clogs). If they don't work out, I can wait until the next sale without going nekkid.

Ponte pants since I have none. Will check out the VC lace print ones before NAS ends. If they don't work out, I'll pass.

I've been on the lookout for a navy utility vest and/or a silver down vest. Maybe that's so specific that I'll never find them. These are #3 (or 4) wants.

I would also like to start a watch collection but may hold off on this until next year. My tiny wrists limit my selection. Good-bye Betsey Johnson.

This F/W, I will pay more attention to how much I wear knits vs. how much I wear wovens; this will hopefully guide me in my future purchases.

I'm looking towards spring/summer here so I'm looking for a summer bag & some linen or cotton dresses for our 100F +++ heat.

I'm looking forward to the change of seasons too, but will be copycatting your spring summer looks as you northerners prepare for The Cold.
"Winter is Coming" ... he he he.

I'm trying not to think about fall just yet (though it's hard when I see gorgeous things everywhere and people post all these tempting items). I love both pants you've chosen Isabel and hope they work for you (I may copy you on one or both)
I really want:
1. Longer trench coat
2. Long navy military style coat (like Angie's from last year)
3. Cognac boots (still have not found THE pair - have I missed the boat and they are out so I don't need to even think about them?)
4. Thick metallic gold belt for my BF jeans
5. Rose Gold belt
6. Navy and black pumps (replacements for worn items) - pointy and low heeled.
All else are gravy for me.

Belts! I need belts, too. Your belt ideas sound mouthwatering, Jjsloane.

Isabel - love both pairs of pants that you've ordered - I think you're going to rock them!

This has been such a fun read! I can't believe that we are thinking about fall already when summer has barely arrived where I live! But, its good to "always be prepared", isn't it?

So, this is the first year in three years that I have been able to shop at all - and it is still quite limited - but so. much. fun. I bought a couple of items at NAS - (and am still thinking about a couple) that will fill some of my wardrobe holes this fall and winter.

My list included:
* All-purpose navy-blue blazer that I could throw over everything - DONE ! got the NAS Theory Lanai in navy blue! Love! Can't wait to wear!
* Medium gray or taupe short tie booties with flat heel - DONE! got the Steve Maddon's.
* Dark blue or cobalt blue shirts/blouses - DONE! Found 2 at Zara on sale.
* Something quilted - DONE! Got the Mural bomber jacket.
* Leather jacket - DONE! Got the Spiegel super bargain - and I love, love, love it - super slouchy - just cool.
* Navy/Black crossbody bag - DONE! Janet's is on her way to me!

Other things on my list (if budget allows):
* Black flat heeled knee-hi boots - something that has just a bit of distressing - not too sleek, not to RATE
* Black flat heeled booties - to replace the ones I have which are going on their 6th fall/winter.
* More gray and blue in my wardrobe.
* Gray BF jeans
* Taupe/Gray patterned belt.
* Something burgandy/cranberryish.
* A piece of jewelry in rose gold.
* A pair of booties in a fun color.
* Black ankle-strap pointy toed low heeled shoes.
* Add some gold to my wardrobe - belt? Shoes? Jewelry?

I think that's about it - not counting layering pieces which I usually pick up at Target - both tanks and long-sleeved tees.

Wow - its going to be a good season!

As you know it is winter here so we have Spring/Summer ahead and I have just been soaking in all your fab outfits so that I have loads of inspiration for the warmer weather. I love that you are a head of us season and fashion wise, all my friends think I am really in the know lol. I was chatting about silky bomber jackets to one of our fashion store managers and she looked at me like I was insane. Apparently the next day the store across the arcade from her must have received shipment and had them in their window display. Your posts help make us Aussie's look really fashion forward

I hope nobody minds if I bump this old thread, now that I've gotten a chance to go through my stored fall/winter wardrobe and pull out the stuff that doesn't fit anymore. Turns out I've got plenty of the basics, and too many of some things - sweaters, for instance, especially since I don't live somewhere really cold. I'm OK for pants and jeans but I would like to find either colored cords or colored jeans in my current size, and a pair of ponte skinnies. I've got plenty of skirts, and jackets. I may need to stock up on some layering pieces like knit tops in the correct size, and my current high boots have seen a couple winters of hard wear. What I'm really missing is new and trendy stuff, something interesting to make it all pop.

So, my shopping assignment:
colored cords/jeans
maybe knee-high boots
a few trendy tops

And off-season stuff, just in case I find it on clearance:
a swimsuit in my new size
neutral flat sandals since my current pair is on its last legs

Time to go peruse everyone's fall threads and Angie's blog posts for some inspiration.

I'm hoping to find a pair of oxfords and some booties. I'd love a couple more boyfriend cardigans (Gap just got some cute ones). I got those ponte pants at Costco, and I'd like to find a couple tunics to wear with them and my skinny jeans. A couple new scarves would be fun, along with a few 3/4 sleeve tops. I have enough toppers, but that doesn't stop me from wanting a faux leather moto jacket and the plum corduroy jacket from the Gap. I'd like to try leggings with some of my dresses.

Well you'd think that since it is nearing the end of winter in Australia I would have finished off my " fall" shopping.
But no. This thread has reminded me that I still want to get black and white layering tops, leggings, lounge wear pants, a casual sweater and maybe more.
So if I don't get a move on these will be in my list for next year, which I decided too late into this season to look through a reasonable selection.
