What are you on the hunt for?

DressLover's post on Fab Finds made me realize that in addition to having great items pointed out to me, YLF is like having extra eyes for spotting that elusive item... not that any of us shop around or anything.

For me, I am currently obsessed with finding a pair of wearable (i.e. under 3") ankle boots or shoes in ELECTRIC BLUE. Angie's post on bright shoes made me realize I lack a pair of truly bright shoes.

So what should we be looking out for on your behalf?

A decently fitting jeans jacket, that isn't too tight and looks like I stole it from a little teenager, or on the other end of the spectrum, not baggy and frumpy and shapeless. It should be light enough to give a little, but offer a bit of warmth and body, sleeves the right length and roomy enough to fit a light sweater or a couple of light layers without looking puffy, and not oversized. I don't like denim that is already worn out or faded or frayed looking when you buy it.

Ideally it will be a classic style, but I've had them in the past that look dated in shape or color after a few years, hence I no longer have one.

I kind of thought that this one, while designed for utility rather than fashion, has a nice shape, and would be good quality construction. I think I can try it on at our local farm supply store!

Still looking for tall black boots. Sadly missed other options at NAS, as I was holding outfor the brush didn't work out for me. Boo!

-white patent belt
-leather cuff bracelet (would have been perfect with today's challenge outfit!)
-the perfect denim jacket
-colored 8-hour shoes in teal, plum, or mustard (in order of preference)
-the perfect teal leather handbag

These are all things that I've been wanting for a while now! The problem is that, especially for the jacket and handbag, I am SUPER PICKY.

Oh, and Una, my ideal blue boot is the Frye Veronica Slouch in Sapphire, which was discontinued and is now impossible to find.... this is why I still don't have a pair of Veronicas, because nothing is as cool as that blue.

Long-sleeved patterned blouse that is not sheer.

The boot hunt is on - need something to fit wide feet and narrow ankles/calves.

Knit jacket but I think I'll have to wait till later in the fall.

Diana, I have the Frye Heaths in sapphire! Very cool blue, but hard boot style to wear.

Specify criteria too! I'm never looking at wide-calf boots, generally, for instance. Elpgal, I'm also wide feet/narrow calves - did you see the Timberlands I posted?

Una, Those are on my list but I'd ideally like to find a flat boot.

I remember those sapphire Frye boot. They sat in my cart for a long time while I pondered how I could wear them.

I might get the Born Adele's in red, but I keep thinking there might be something else out there for me.

~ A cute little black jacket, not really a blazer, something more casual & fitted at the waist. Light weight/cotton. Last year I got a green military style one & I wore it all the time, it really was useful. I want something similiar, but black. I am sure it exists somewhere.

The PERFECT leather jacket. It has to be short in the body so that it hits my waist, fitted so that it fits over the bust (large) so that I do not look like a lollipop!!!

A leather shearling jacket. Perhaps aviator style. Something that can actually function as a coat in the winter. I am willing to plunk down some money, but so far I haven't gotten used to how much! I saw one on Bloomingdales.com from Joie for over $1700 recently.

I was thinking more like, $1000.

Then again, if it's the coolest thing ever and makes me drool, I could dip into my savings kitty, intended for a drywall project. Who needs drywall? Starring at pink insulation material is fun, kind of like looking at cotton candy, right?

I've also been looking for a black jacket that is somewhere between casual and dressy. I'm so picky though that I haven't found anything like what I want. I envision something that I can wear with dark jeans and a spangly top for going out in the evening, but that I can also wear for a more casual situation or even to work in an office (assuming that one day I find another job, of course...).

I'm looking for the perfect black suit that doesn't make me feel frumpy like my other 3 black suits! Pant suit ... slightly stretchy ... maybe a little, tiny bit of sheen ... maybe a shawl collar ... has to be worn in court and in the office .... don't want to spend over $600.

I am still hunting for the perfect grey knee high, heeled, clean lined, non-suede boots.

Also, a new red handbag. Not sure what I am looking for per se, but I will know it when I see it.

Two things: the perfect bootie/calf-length boot in black leather, with a 2 1/2 inch heel, not a wedge, not a kitten heel, some interesting details, luxe looking, size 11, toe not too rounded or pointy, has to fit snugly through the top of the foot and ankle, has to come up a bit on my calf so I can wear with my elastic-bottom slouchy pants, not too loose around the calf nor too slim-fitting, not a cowboy boot nor a biker boot, not more than $200ish. Whew! Gee, why has this been so hard to find :)?

Also, a perfect boxy, slouchy black lightweight merino or cashmere long-sleeved crewneck or boatneck sweater with white or off-white stripes. This one should be easier to bag, I'm thinking.

I'm looking for a pair of burgundy (Neiman's is calling it "bordeaux" this season) wool trousers, slim fit. I saw a pair in Marie Claire attributed to Marni. For $1200. Not that I have $1200 to toss off on a pair of pants, but I went to the Marni website and no such pants to be found! I've run a search on all the sites I can think of too.

Actually I loved the whole look that went with the pants. I'd like a 3/4 sleeve sweater top and tissue turtle-neck to go with. If I can't have burgundy, I'd take dark green or dark blue, something that goes with teal.

I'd also like:
- grey flat ankle booties
- heeled flats in grey patent leather (had a pair I loved to death and want to replace them)
- black ballet flats with punky details - metal studs, straps
- tie neck blouse in an edgy print
- a stylish puffer that isn't cropped
- tissue tees (always on my list)

I need a MOTGroom dress for next summer but the search is on as it would be lovely to find something on sale. I doubt I'll have a reason to wear it again but want to look good. I'm after a dress that is about 41-44 inches from the shoulder (midi) and has some coverage on top for a flat-chest and older neck. It can be sleeveless. I don't want black or pastel. I'm thinking some color of blue from navy to a medium tone, or turquoise or coral. Grey or brown would be good if I don't blend into the woodwork for photos. I'm not a fan of shiny fabrics or lots going on, but it would just depend on how it looks on. If you see something, please let me know.

I am looking for a deep red/ wine sweaterdress in light wool, and cut for a pear shape. Maybe wrap style or empire waist? And not high-neck - a V, cowl or scoop neck.

I have the Frye Veronica in Sapphire and they were worth every penny. Although if I hadn't spent all my pennies on those, I might have gone for the Paige in Forest green - mmm.

@ Diana, I have El Naturalista N740 in "Mora". They are chunky Mary-Janes in the best plum leather and they are 24 hour shoes - seriously, I might sleep in mine. They are on sale at Endless.

DressLover, I'm with you. I'd still love to find the perfect pair of medium gray, non-suede, knee high, low-or-mid-heeled boots that will fit my wider-than-average calves AND cost less than $200, ideally under $150. I'd be thrilled with pewter, too. I'm not actively hunting, but just always on the lookout. I just haven't seen anything that strikes my fancy *and* meets my specifications.

If I can find my boots AND my sanity I'll feel doubly blessed.
