I was just curious to know what YLF'ers might be getting for their Mom(s) and grandmothers this year for Mother's Day.

This year, Mother's Day falls the Sunday before I meet up with my Mom in San Diego less than a week later, so I'm thinking flowers might not be all that. At the same time, there's no way I'd miss sending my Mom something nice for Mother's Day. To make things even more interesting, I also have my Dad's ex-girlfriend's birthday in there too (May 10th). I know this sounds weird, but she was with my Dad for years and years - and even though they split up a long time ago - she was so extremely good to me (a wonderful person who made me feel included and totally loved). I always send her something for her birthday, for Christmas and the like. As far as I'm concerned, she's family too.

I have three people to buy for this year - my own Mom, who I'll be meeting up with less than a week later in San Diego, my Dad's ex-girlfriend who's birthday is on May 10th, plus my Grandma, who is 97. I'm making it a point to visit Vancouver later this year for my Grandma's 98th birthday in October - but for now, it's Mother's Day and I won't be there, so wondering what to send.

If you can't be there, what do you normally send? I've done the chocolates and flowers thing a few times already, and can always do this again, but I was hoping to come up with something a little bit different this year.

What are you sending your Mom, substitute Moms, step-Moms, Grandmas, MIL's and so on?
